As a longtime fan of Anne Rice’s work, I was eager to revisit her Vampire Chronicles, and this new iteration doesn’t disappoint. We’re thrown right back into that deliciously dark world, this time with Lestat (played by Sam Reid) taking center stage. He’s back, and he’s not happy with the way his story was told by his former lover, Louis (Jacob Anderson), and he’s determined to set the record straight. It’s a fascinating premise, and I’m excited to see how this unfolds.
The story revisits Lestat in the 1980s, where he unexpectedly becomes a popular glam rock star. His newfound fame—with both vampires and humans—leads to dangerous and unforeseen consequences.
Anderson returns as Louis, but his part in the story is smaller this time. After leading the action in season two, which took place in Paris, the show’s title has been updated to show this change in focus.
Fans are hoping the new Lestat novel will revitalize Anne Rice’s interconnected universe of vampires and witches, after the Mayfair Witches series didn’t perform as well as expected and the Talamasca show was quickly canceled.
Initial reactions are very positive, so we believe the long-awaited return will be worth it. Here’s the latest information on when and where you’ll be able to find The Vampire Lestat in the UK.
How to watch The Vampire Lestat in the UK

Here’s the latest on ‘The Vampire Lestat’: while it premiered in the US on June 7th, 2026, it isn’t currently available to watch in the UK.
Good news for fans! TopMob knows that The Vampire Lestat will be available on BBC iPlayer this summer, alongside seasons 1 and 2 of Interview with the Vampire, which you can already watch.
We don’t have an exact release date yet, but it looks like fans in the UK won’t have to wait much longer – probably just a few months – to see the new episodes. Until then, though, they’ll need to be careful to avoid spoilers.
What is The Vampire Lestat about?
The third season of Interview with the Vampire is now called The Vampire Lestat, taking its name from the second book in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles series.
These upcoming episodes will shift focus away from Louis de Pointe du Lac’s perspective – though Jacob Anderson will still be on screen – and instead explore the complex inner world of his former, pleasure-seeking lover.

This season, vampire Lestat hits the road for a high-energy concert tour. But his past comes back to haunt him as he’s visited by figures from his rebellious youth.
With his band becoming increasingly famous, Lestat gains more control over both vampires and humans. This growing power creates conflict as everyone struggles to deal with the consequences of the Great Conversion – a sudden and massive increase in the vampire population.
