EMPULSE Early Access Kicks Off on June 24th

1047 Games is quickly developing its new competitive shooter, EMPULSE, which focuses on fast-paced movement. They’ve announced it will be available in early access on June 24th, and you can even get a first look during the Steam Next Fest, starting June 15th.

More gameplay footage was shown at the PC Gaming Show, and if you previously thought the game resembled Titanfall, that’s still the case (though the trailer music was a bit annoying). Players join a Crew in the city of Freehold and battle for control across highly vertical, urban landscapes.

Beyond simply running on walls and using weapons like assault rifles, pistols, and shotguns, the game lets you change the environment with P.A.I.N.T. bombs and use Holojumps to reach new heights. A grappling hook is also included, allowing you to quickly move around and get behind enemies.

The map also features powerful mechs that teams can fight to control. When a team takes control of a mech, it gains a significant firepower advantage, potentially putting the other team at a disadvantage. Quick movement and teamwork are crucial for either capturing or destroying the mech. So far, only one type of mech has been revealed, but more with unique abilities are on the way. We’ll share more details in the weeks to come.
