Andy Cohen Reveals How His Kids Feel About Boyfriend Kevin Sobieski

Andy Cohen is no longer pleading the fifth when it comes to his romance with Kevin Sobieski.

Since recently revealing his relationship, the host of Watch What Happens Live has spoken openly for the first time about falling in love with a businessman from New York City. The businessman has already met his children, Ben, age 7, and Lucy, age 4.

“People have asked me for a long time, ‘When are you going to get a boyfriend? Why don’t you have a boyfriend?'” Cohen reflected during the June 8 episode of his SiriusXM radio show Andy Cohen Live. “And I have always said, ‘I will know when I meet the person.'”

I’ve always followed my heart,” the 58-year-old explained, “and I’m thrilled to have finally found the right person.

Cohen explained that he took things slowly and carefully when he first introduced Ben and Lucy to Sobieski. Now, though, he’s happy to report that they all adore each other – Sobieski loves his children, and they love him, and Cohen loves him too.

Though fans just learned about Cohen and Sobieski’s relationship after they were seen holding hands in New York City on June 2nd, Cohen shared that they first met a year prior at a friend’s Fourth of July party – a truly charming and romantic first encounter.

I first saw him about eleven months ago at a party. I almost didn’t bother going, but I pushed myself to get out of the house. I rarely get invited to parties in the Hamptons these days, but I figured, ‘Why not?’

As soon as he arrived, Cohen thought to himself, “I need to find out who this person is and what they’re about.”

He told me they talked for hours. He remembered carefully entering his number into the other person’s phone, and the other person was impressed by how deliberate he was. Apparently, he even repeated twice that night, ‘I want to be sure this number is correct.’ The other person later said he knew he was truly interested when he saw how much importance he placed on getting the number right.

Cohen described Sobieski as kind, strong, and intelligent, and shared that their first date together was a Metallica concert in the Hamptons.

He admitted their relationship is working so well because he and Sobieski share the same outlook on life and haven’t argued at all.

 

Cohen also expressed gratitude to fans for respecting their privacy as he and his partner began dating.

“I really am happy,” he concluded. “I can’t believe I found this guy. I’m in shock.”
