HIDIVE is adding a new anime to its Summer 2026 schedule, and it’s coming from the studio that’s also making the highly anticipated Kagurabachi. With the Summer 2026 anime season quickly approaching, many new shows will be available on different streaming services, and HIDIVE has secured another popular title that fans should watch for soon.
I’m so excited about the anime adaptation of The World Is Dancing! It’s been one of the most anticipated new series this July, and HIDIVE is going to stream it exclusively as it airs in Japan. If you’re in the US, Canada, or other select regions, you’ll be able to start watching on June 29th! They just released a new trailer, which you can check out below – it looks amazing!

The anime will also be featured at Anime Expo 2026, with a special panel on Thursday, July 2nd, premiering the second episode for attendees. Based on Kazuto Mihara’s historical fantasy novel, the series boasts a talented production team.
Toshimasa Kuroyanagi directs the upcoming anime The World Is Dancing, produced by Cypic – the same studio behind the currently in-development Kagurabachi. Sawako Kawamitsu wrote the scripts, and Keigo Sasaki designed the characters. The voice cast includes Yumiri Hanamori as Oniyasha, Simba Tsuchiya as Ishiya, Maaya Uchida as Kogane, Romi Park as Zojiro, Takahiro Sakurai as Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, Katsuyuki Konishi as Kan’ami, Nobuo Tobita as Nijo Yoshimoto, Mamiko Noto as Nariko, Inori Minase as Chiharu, Haruki Ishiya as Junigoro, and Hazuki Seto as Satsuki.
What Is The World Is Dancing?

I’m happy to share that HIDIVE will be streaming the historical drama The World Is Dancing as part of our Summer 2026 simulcast lineup. According to HIDIVE President John Ledford, the series is really special. It tells the story of the birth of Noh theater through the eyes of Zeami, one of its founders, when he was just twelve years old. It’s a fictionalized story, but combines beautiful animation with the captivating elements of this classic art form.
Viewers will be immediately drawn into the world of 14th-century Japan, experiencing a captivating journey back in time,” Ledford explained. “The World Is Dancing is a must-see!” The trailer’s intriguing historical setting and impressive visuals suggest this upcoming release, just weeks away, will be one to watch for fans.
