The Batman Part II Star Has Bad News About Their Return to the DC Franchise

After a delay, production on The Batman Part II is officially starting, with the movie currently scheduled to come out in October 2027. Director Matt Reeves recently revealed the cast list on social media, featuring both familiar actors and some new faces. Colin Farrell will be returning as Oz Cobb/Penguin, a role he previously played in The Batman and the The Penguin TV series. Fans are excited to see more of his performance, but Farrell recently shared some unfortunate news about the role.

In an interview with Collider, Colin Farrell revealed that filming for the new project will begin “in a week.” He won’t be needed on set right away, though. “I’ll be flying to London in about a month,” Farrell said. “I don’t have a huge role in this one, but I’ll be there for a few weeks, and I’m really excited to see how it all comes together as a fan.”

Farrell also complimented Reeves’s skill as a storyteller, calling the script ‘extraordinary.’ He emphasized that Reeves is a brilliant writer who is genuinely passionate about the stories he creates.
