The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced a very long time ago, much to the frustration of its creator, Todd Howard, and it won’t be available for quite a while.
A recent interview with Matt Booty, the head of Xbox and all its game development studios like Bethesda, offered a small glimpse into the upcoming RPG.
He said:
I’ve had a chance to visit Bethesda and see them working on Elder Scrolls with Todd. It’s looking fantastic and progressing nicely. We’ll share a proper announcement and reveal more details when the time is right.
Todd Howard explained that his team needs to balance building excitement for new games with avoiding premature announcements. He admitted that revealing The Elder Scrolls 6 too soon was a mistake, as he’d previously stated.
It’s uncertain if this will ever appear on PlayStation, possibly not until the PS6 is released. Microsoft has indicated they might add more games exclusive to their consoles, depending on how well their business is doing.
The franchise seems too widespread for Microsoft to easily go down that path, but since they’re funding it, anything is possible. Regardless, it will likely be a long time before we have a clear answer.
