5 Weakest MCU Characters With Superpowers, Ranked

As someone who’s been following the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man kicked things off back in 2008, I’ve seen it explode into this massive, interconnected world. It’s really become a remarkably faithful adaptation of the comics, and frankly, one of the biggest franchises ever! What’s truly amazing is the sheer number of incredible characters they’ve brought to life on screen – so many heroes and villains with powers beyond our wildest imaginations. It’s been quite a ride watching this universe expand.

As a big Marvel fan, I’ve noticed something interesting: not everyone in the universe is packing serious power. Sure, there’s a ton of heroes with amazing abilities – magic users, aliens, people powered by science… you name it! But when you really look at who’s actually strong, some superpowered characters surprisingly fall pretty low on the list. I started thinking about which ones, despite having powers most of us can only dream of, are actually among the weakest in the whole MCU.

5) Kingo

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has characters who are surprisingly powerful, but also some who aren’t as strong as they appear. Kingo is a good example of the latter. While he’s an Eternal with enhanced abilities and can shoot energy from his hands, he’s actually quite weak – particularly when it comes to doing what’s right. He prioritizes fame over protecting Earth and doesn’t have the same bravery or determination as other members of his team, making him less powerful overall.

4) Korg

Korg is known for being hilarious in Marvel movies, but this actually makes his character less impactful. Despite being a Kronan made of rock – which should make him incredibly tough and powerful – he’s mostly been used as a joke. While Korg is good-natured, he’s not very helpful in battles and has repeatedly shown himself to be one of the least intelligent characters in the MCU, ultimately becoming more of a hindrance than a help.

3) Quicksilver

I always felt like Quicksilver should have been a huge deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His powers – super speed! – seemed like they could make him incredibly powerful. But honestly, I was really disappointed with how they used him. In his only real appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, they showed how fast he was, but then he just…died. He couldn’t even dodge a bunch of bullets! It’s frustrating because he seemed so strong, and even though his death was heroic, it really highlighted how much weaker he was than he could have been. It just didn’t live up to his potential.

2) Mantis

Mantis is a powerful character in Marvel comics, but her abilities haven’t been fully realized in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the MCU, she’s mostly known for reading and influencing emotions, and often serves as comic relief rather than a major force. While she has potential, her powers rarely come into play in a helpful way during action-packed scenes. Overall, Mantis is a likable character with interesting abilities, but remains one of the MCU’s less powerful heroes.

1) Sprite

Let’s talk about Sprite, a character who, sadly, might have the least impactful powers in the entire MCU. Yes, she’s an Eternal with incredible potential, and those illusions are visually impressive, but there’s a huge catch. She’s been stuck looking like a child for millennia, and honestly, it really undermines her authority. No one seems to take her seriously, and when you’re facing world-ending threats, a cool illusion just doesn’t quite cut it. Despite being technically ‘superpowered,’ Sprite consistently feels like one of the weakest links in the Marvel lineup, and it’s a shame because the concept has promise.
