D’Arcy Carden has found a good place with Jennifer Garner.
After working together on their upcoming Peacock series, The Five-Star Weekend – which is based on the 2023 novel by Elin Hilderbrand – the 46-year-old developed a new appreciation for Garner.
You know, I’ve worked with a lot of talented people, but let me tell you, my costar absolutely blew me away. Honestly, she’s even better than people realize! What I appreciate most is her authenticity – she’s genuinely herself, and that really shines through. It’s refreshing to work with someone who is so real and true to who they are, and it translates on screen. I shared this with TopMob News at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards – it’s airing on June 17th if you want to hear more!
She explained that after work, she’d often sit and tell her husband, ‘I have a crush on Jennifer Garner.’
Carden shared that she, along with her co-stars Chloë Sevigny, Regina Hall, and Gemma Chan, really enjoyed working with Jennifer Garner. Garner plays a food blogger who invites her four friends to her Nantucket home for a weekend getaway following the loss of her husband.
Calling the experience “beautiful,” she shared. “Those are some really, really wonderful people.”
Carden feels just as close to her former co-stars from The Good Place – Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, and Manny Jacinto.
I’m a huge fan of the creators of The Good Place, honestly. If I had the chance to work with them again, I’d take it in a heartbeat – I’d be there instantly!
So, does this mean Carden is up for a revival? Not quite.

She said she’s willing to do whatever it takes, but also feels a need to just let things unfold naturally.
For now, Carden is looking forward to a summer at home.
The actress recently finished renovating her house, a project that took a significant amount of time. She joked that she plans to stay home and really settle in, enjoying her space by hosting friends and cooking for them. She and her husband, Jason Carden, have been married since 2010.
Maybe she’ll invite Garner?
