David Tennant is likely taking on more work! Netflix has ordered another season of its popular comedy, The Four Seasons, and he’s expected to be part of the new episodes.
Viewers were surprised and pleased to see the actor pop up at the end of season 2, hinting that his character, Gianpiero, could become a new love interest for Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), who is a widow.
According to Deadline, David Tennant hasn’t officially committed to return for a third season, but his recent appearance strongly suggested they’re building towards a bigger role for him. So, it would be very surprising if he didn’t appear at all.
The Four Seasons is a new TV show created by Tina Fey – known for her work on shows like 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It’s based on the Alan Alda film of the same name, and Fey also stars in it alongside Kenney-Silver, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, and Erika Henningsen.
Tina Fey, along with her co-creators Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, released a statement thanking viewers of their show. They gave a special shout-out to middle-aged fans, enthusiastically using the internet slang ‘LFG’ – which stands for ‘let’s fing go!’

Tracey Pakosta, Netflix’s Vice President of Comedy for the US, said it’s been wonderful to see how the show has developed. She praised Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield for their ability to combine heartwarming moments with clever comedy, making viewers feel like they’re among close friends.
In an interview with Decider after the season aired, creator Meredith Wigfield shared that Tina Fey initially proposed casting someone similar to David Tennant as a possible love interest for Anne. They were delighted when Tennant agreed to the role.
We filmed that single scene in just one day. He’s a really nice guy and looks great alongside Kerri. As for Anne, she’s clearly gone through a lot of development throughout both the first and second seasons.
She’s attempting a major personal makeover, trying to reinvent herself, but it’s proving difficult. That’s why we were excited about the idea of ending a potential third season with a romantic cliffhanger – it felt like a strong way to leave things.
She hinted that the mysterious man connected to Tennant was someone fans would love to see more of, suggesting their new connection might develop further.
David Tennant was recently in the news, confirmed to be joining the cast of the sixth season of Only Murders in the Building, which is filmed in London. He’ll be acting alongside several other well-known British stars.
