Fans of NCIS: Tony & Ziva will have something new to look forward to.
The new NCIS spinoff, featuring the return of Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, generated a lot of excitement when it premiered on Paramount+. Beyond simply moving the characters to a streaming platform, the show tapped into fans’ long-held desire to see these beloved actors reprise their roles after leaving the original series.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva showed Tony and Ziva raising their daughter, Tali, in Paris. But their peaceful life was disrupted when a dangerous event at Tony’s company threatened their safety. This forced them to travel across Europe searching for answers and fighting for survival. The first season ended with Tony and Ziva finally reuniting, but unfortunately, Paramount+ cancelled the show, disappointing fans who were eager to see more of their story.
The first season of NCIS: Tony & Ziva will officially be released on DVD starting July 14, 2026, according to an Amazon listing. The 13-episode season has already been available digitally with bonus content and can also be streamed on Paramount+. This DVD release is especially good news for dedicated fans who prefer owning physical copies of their favorite shows, as more and more entertainment options move to subscription services.
It’s unclear whether the DVD release of NCIS: Tony & Ziva will include any extra content. They might add new interviews or bonus features to encourage fans to buy it. However, longtime fans of Tony and Ziva from the original NCIS series will likely be interested in purchasing it regardless.
Fans are still hoping to see more of Tony and Ziva, even as the NCIS franchise evolves. CBS has announced its fall 2026 lineup, with season 24 of NCIS leading into a new spinoff starring LL Cool J and Scott Caan, titled NCIS: New York. The ‘Super Tuesday’ block of shows will continue with season 3 of NCIS: Origins in the fall and season 4 of NCIS: Sydney in the winter. It’s currently unclear whether CBS is considering the fan petition requesting a continuation of Tony and Ziva’s storyline as they plan the future of the NCIS universe.
Even if the proposed spin-off NCIS: Tony & Ziva doesn’t move forward, CBS could still reunite the popular couple on the original NCIS, maybe for a few episodes. With changes coming in season 24 of NCIS and Alden Parker facing Gabriel LaRoche, his team might benefit from help from familiar faces like Tony and Ziva. This would allow a meaningful reunion with their former colleagues and also contribute to safeguarding the future of NCIS.
