Fans are still processing the dramatic events of season 2’s mid-season finale and preparing for what’s next, but good news: Rivals has been officially renewed for a third season!
Fans of the show probably already suspected this, but it’s official: the series has become Disney+’s most popular original launch ever in the UK and Ireland.
A third season of the Jilly Cooper adaptation is officially happening, with 12 new episodes planned. It’s currently unknown if these episodes will be released in two parts, like they were in season two, but we’ll find out soon.
Season 2 is being released in stages, which is different from the first season where all episodes were available immediately. This new approach has definitely created anticipation, but fans have mixed feelings – some are eager for episodes to come out faster, while others enjoy the suspense it builds.
We can relax knowing that even though we don’t know how the season will finish, there’s still a lot more story to enjoy.
As a total movie and TV buff, I was thrilled to hear Disney+ picked up another season of ‘Rivals’! Lee Mason, one of the heads over there, basically said the show’s been a huge hit – and rightly so! He gave all the credit to Jilly Cooper’s fantastic story, which is just so cheeky and fun, plus the amazing actors, writers, and everyone who helped bring it to life. It’s awesome to see good stuff get recognized.
Fans can look forward to a third season coming to both Disney+ and Hulu! We’re bringing back all the drama – expect even bigger stories of love, competition, and shocking secrets when we return to the world of Rutshire.
Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Executive Producer and Chief Creative Officer at Happy Prince, and Alexander Lamb, Happy Prince’s Creative Director, shared their excitement about the positive reaction to season two of Rivals. They credited the show’s success to the dedication of the entire team involved, both in front of and behind the camera.
We’re deeply saddened that Jilly wasn’t able to see the positive response to season two. However, her spirit lives on, and we know she’d be thrilled about season three being confirmed. We’re excited to continue our collaboration with Disney, exploring more of the Rutshire Chronicles and building on the world of the Cooper family.
We don’t know yet which actors will return for the next season – revealing that information could spoil the ending of season 2.
The remaining episodes of the second season are officially set to release in November 2026, meaning we’ll find out how that devastating event changes the story in just five months.
