The first look at Shrek 5 shows Shrek and Donkey teaming up again for what promises to be a wild new story.
The new film, coming out on June 30, 2027, has released a first look at some scenes, and it’s clearly inspired by the original, which premiered in 2001.
Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy reprise their roles as Shrek and Donkey in a new movie that takes them on another wild adventure to the land of Far Far Away. This time, they’ll encounter a surprisingly sinister take on everyone’s favorite snowman from Frozen, Olaf.
Shrek and Fiona aren’t the only ones on this adventure – their two sons are coming along too!

Fans will appreciate how this movie fondly references the first ‘Shrek’ film, especially the classic dynamic between Shrek and Donkey as they embark on a new journey – with Donkey, as always, full of energy.
The clip ends with a brief but memorable part of Smash Mouth’s “All Star,” a song strongly associated with the movies.
We don’t have many details about the movie’s story yet, but we now know which actors will be joining the three main stars.
Zendaya will star as Felicia, the daughter of Shrek and Fiona. Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo will play their sons, Fergus and Farkle.

Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn are directing the new film, and both have a history with the franchise. Vernon previously directed Shrek 2, and Dohrn contributed as a writer, artist, and story head on several of the earlier films. With their experience, the movie is in good hands.
Vernon also provides the voice for Gingy, the popular Gingerbread Man, in the trailer.
Shrek 5 is released in cinemas on 30 June 2027.
