Prince George Set to Attend Prince William’s Alma Mater Eton College

Prince George is stepping into a new chapter.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 12-year-old son will be attending Eton College this September, according to an announcement from Kensington Palace on June 15th.

The renowned boarding school, where William and his brother Prince Harry went as teens, aims to help boys ages 13-18 grow into well-rounded individuals who can positively influence the world and live happy, fulfilling lives, according to the school’s website.

I’m always amazed by the incredible alumni of this school! It’s not just royalty who’ve passed through its doors, you know. Talented actors like Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston are also proud graduates – they’re just a couple of examples of the amazing people who got their start here.

The announcement about George’s achievement follows closely on the heels of the royal family’s appearance at Trooping the Colour, a traditional event celebrating King Charles III’s birthday.

William and Kate appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with their children, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. They waved to the large crowds alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Kate celebrated the event in a pale blue and white skirt suit and her signature statement hat. William, acknowledging his high-ranking role in the military, wore his full ceremonial uniform of the Welsh Guards.

Princess Charlotte wore a white dress, and Princes George and Louis both wore matching navy suits.

Now that Prince William and Kate Middleton are becoming parents to teenagers, Prince William shared that he’s been preparing by helping his children navigate their emotions – though he jokes they sometimes share a lot!

He explained during a BBC Radio 1 panel discussion for their Life Hacks: Mental Health Special on February 18th that he appreciates receiving all the information, calling it “amazing.”

However, having such open conversations doesn’t just help William understand how his kids are feeling; it also naturally leads him to try and fix things for them – a tendency he’s actively working to overcome.

William shared, “It’s hard because you always want to make things better for everyone. I have to keep reminding myself that you don’t have to solve every problem – sometimes it’s enough to just listen and accept how people are feeling.”

The father of three admitted that previous generations haven’t always dealt with mental health in a healthy way, but stressed that today’s parents have the opportunity to teach their children more effective ways to cope with challenges.

He explained that it’s important to talk about your feelings, and that ignoring them won’t make them go away.
