PS5’s ‘Recently Played’ Section Wiped as Sony Contends with Another Security Concern

Update [Tue 16th Jun 2026, 10pm]:

Sony is working to fix a glitch affecting PlayStation Network users. Some players noticed games appearing on their accounts that they hadn’t purchased.

The ‘Recently Played’ section on my homepage – and on many other users’ homepages – is currently empty, likely due to PlayStation working on a fix.

There’s currently no proof that any systems were actually hacked, but because Sony has experienced security issues in the past, we’re monitoring this problem closely.

Recently, a strange security problem occurred where hackers gained access to some PlayStation 5 (PS5) accounts. They did this by tricking PlayStation’s customer support team into giving them access.

Sony seems to be improving its security measures, but some players are noticing strange activity with their PlayStation Network accounts – and it’s proving more unusual than previous security concerns.

Several Reddit users are reporting that games are appearing on their profiles even though they haven’t bought, downloaded, or played them.

The example in the original post displays ‘Sex Store Simulator’ as the user’s last played game.

Reddit user xviixvo points out that this claim is false – the game isn’t actually available for purchase or download on the PlayStation Store. This means whoever made the claim couldn’t have possibly played it.

The user also posted a screenshot of a game called Hentai Princess in the comments. It doesn’t seem to be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store.

Several new games are becoming popular, such as Avatar Island, Sex Shop Simulator, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Germany Quiz.

I haven’t noticed anything unusual happening with my own account, but I’m hearing from enough other people that it seems like something is actually going on.

We’re not sure what caused this problem, but it’s brought PlayStation’s security into question again.

It looks like there might be a mistake somewhere. The fact that some games aren’t showing up publicly makes me think the platform is experiencing a technical issue.

Sony rarely shares information, even when things are going well, so it’s doubtful we’ll get a clear answer about what happened. However, I’ve contacted them and will let you know if I receive a response.

Have you noticed any activity like this? Tell us in the comments section below.

Thank you to Sacred Symbols for the tip.
