Randy Newman’s ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ is one of the most memorable movie theme songs ever written. Even just the first few notes of its upbeat intro immediately bring the world of Toy Story to mind.
Randy Newman’s music has been closely tied to Pixar ever since the first Toy Story film in 1995. He’s gone on to compose music and songs for many other Pixar favorites, including A Bug’s Life, Monsters, Inc., Cars, and their follow-up movies.
It’s not surprising that Randy Newman is composing the music for the new Toy Story movie – and he’s joined by other well-known musicians working on the film.
Taylor Swift, the famous singer, wrote a new song called “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the movie. She worked on it with her frequent songwriting partner, Jack Antonoff.

She announced the new song on Instagram, describing the writing process as both a fresh, new direction and a comfortable return to her roots.

Toy Story 5 soundtrack: The latest confirmed music for new Pixar sequel
The movie’s soundtrack, featuring music by Newman, will be available on June 19th, the same day the film comes out. We’ll share the complete list of songs as soon as it’s released.
The film will feature two songs: a brand-new track and a beloved classic.
