NBA player Karl-Anthony Towns shared that his fiancée didn’t appreciate James Dolan, the owner of the New York Knicks, advising the team to abstain from sex for ten weeks before the playoffs. Dolan gave this pep talk hoping it would help the Knicks during their playoff run.
Karl-Anthony Towns shared on The Howard Stern Show on June 16th that his fiancée wasn’t pleased with comments recently made by Charles Barkley. Towns explained, ‘I’m engaged, and when I told her what he said, she didn’t react well to it.’
After winning the NBA Championship against the San Antonio Spurs on June 13th, teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart posted a clip of James Dolan’s motivational speech on their podcast’s social media on June 15th.
In a video, Dolan suggested trying abstinence from sex for ten weeks. He explained that, like the Spartans who practiced self-discipline to gain an advantage, this could help viewers achieve a similar benefit – gaining an ‘edge’ in their lives.
Dolan advised the players to talk to their wives about the demands of the season – explaining the level of dedication required and the sacrifices their families would also need to make.
James Dolan said he’d buy championship rings for the Knicks players, and even their families, if they won a title, but Tiger Woods didn’t have to think about that happening.
The 28-year-old shared a sweet message on Instagram after her fiancé, a player for the Knicks, won a championship. She recalled him promising to buy her a ring once he got his own, and celebrated that his dream – and their matching rings – had come true.
Woods stated she isn’t superstitious at all, even dismissing the idea that her own handbag somehow helped the Knicks win their championship. She made it clear she believes her fiancé and his teammates deserve full credit for their victory.
