In Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a multitude of superheroes are making their return, including seven characters who have traditionally had less screen time. As Marvel Studios delves into tales involving supernatural entities and urban crime fighters, the spectrum of powers within the MCU has grown more diverse than ever before. Characters like Sentry, Thor, Professor X, Magneto, among others, will be showcased in Phase 6, which officially commenced with The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July 2025 and is set to conclude with Avengers: Secret Wars (scheduled for a December 2027 release). Avengers: Doomsday, in particular, will highlight some of the MCU’s strongest heroes. However, it’s important to note that not all characters appearing in the final chapter of the Multiverse Saga will possess powers at such high levels.
The 7 Weakest MCU Heroes Appearing in Phase 6 & Avengers 5
Daredevil
Unlike most of the weaker characters in Phase 6, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil possesses certain superpowers due to his heightened senses. However, since he lacks super-strength or other extraordinary abilities, he primarily depends on his martial arts skills and intellectual aptitude to face his adversaries.
In Phase 6, it’s unlikely that Matt Murdock’s ordinary abilities will cause him trouble since he won’t seem to be part of Doomsday. Instead, he’ll show up only in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, where he’ll confront Kingpin and other street-level adversaries whose power matches his own.
Punisher
In Phase 6, Jon Bernthal will once again embody the Punisher character in three different projects – “Daredevil: Born Again”, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, and a standalone Disney+ special. The Punisher’s military background has honed his formidable combat skills, ruthlessness, and expertise with weapons, which he deploys relentlessly against criminal threats.
Even though Frank Castle’s violent methods might suffice for his activities on Disney+, it remains undecided if they will be sufficient for his supposed confrontation with the Hulk in Spider-Man 4. There’s a question of whether the Punisher will find himself overwhelmed or receiving an upgrade to his weaponry to tackle Hulk and other potential dangers during his first PG-13 outing.
Kate Bishop
Although Kate Bishop demonstrates skill with a bow and can hold her own in combat, she possesses less strength and has fewer years of training compared to most heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it remains to be seen how her counterpart from an alternate reality, set to appear in Phase 6’s “Marvel Zombies,” may vary.
In the adult-oriented Marvel Zombies Disney+ series, we can expect more graphic depictions of bloodshed from Kate Bishop’s arrows, marking a stark contrast to her family-friendly appearances in Hawkeye and potential role in Avengers 5, where she is confined to PG-13 level action.
Yelena Belova
In her role as one of the MCU’s less powerful heroes, Yelena Belova leans on her emotional intuition, spycraft prowess, and battle expertise. However, a change is coming for Yelena as she joins forces with the New Avengers (previously known as the Thunderbolts). This alliance could provide her with substantial resources, potentially enhancing her technology during the events of Doomsday.
The lack of exposure beyond Black Widow training and cutting-edge technology didn’t hinder Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff until her selfless sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame, and it might not impede her sister, Yelena Belova, either.
M’Baku
M’Baku might not possess supernatural abilities, but he is undeniably one of Wakanda’s most formidable warriors. Currently, he holds the throne as king over the African nation. Without any inherent powers, M’Baku has managed to hold his ground against waterborne threats and extraterrestrial assailants. In the upcoming adventure titled Doomsday, M’Baku will face challenges from the Multiverse.
Although there is speculation that M’Baku might not make it through Avengers 5, fans can merely cross their fingers that he will live on to play his part in Black Panther 3. It’s intriguing to consider if, given Winston Duke’s character is now ruling over Wakanda, M’Baku might utilize the advanced technologies at his disposal more frequently.
Joaquin Torres
Joaquin Torres is emulating the path of Sam Wilson as he performs heroic deeds without inherent powers, instead relying on his advanced flight suit and military background. Notably, Torres sustained grievous injuries in “Captain America: Brave New World,” which could potentially compromise his abilities further in the upcoming storyline, “Doomsday.
It remains to be seen how effectively the new Falcon and other lesser-known Marvel characters will measure up against formidable opponents like Doctor Doom, mutants, and unknown threats from different universes when they are thrown into the thick of things during Avengers 5 , marking the start of the Multiverse Saga.
Sam Wilson
In the upcoming “Avengers 5” movie, Anthony Mackie’s character Sam Wilson is expected to play a significant role among the main superheroes. Despite not having any traditional superpowers, he might be one of the less powerful characters in terms of extraordinary abilities. However, his greatest strengths lie in inspiring his fellow heroes and leading by example. He will demonstrate remarkable combat skills, leverage advanced Wakandan technology, and utilize his secret, yet formidable, intellectual prowess to hold his own during the action-packed scenes.
Some people believe that Sam Wilson should emulate Steve Rogers by receiving the Super Soldier Serum as he readies to helm a fresh Avengers team in the story of Doomsday. However, his path demonstrates that it’s values, not power, that define Captain America. Thus, administering the serum might oversimplify this concept.
