Despite being an American author, Harlan Coben’s novels are often adapted to be set in the UK.
Harlan Coben’s Netflix thrillers, including hits like Fool Me Once, The Stranger, and Run Away, are known for their surprising twists. His newest series, I Will Find You, continues that tradition, but it’s unique as it’s the first of his books to be adapted and set in America.
As a film buff, I’m really intrigued by this new eight-part series. It centers around David Burroughs, played by Sam Worthington, who’s been in prison for life for a terrible crime – killing his own son. But then he gets a hint that maybe, just maybe, his son isn’t actually dead. So, he breaks out of prison to find out what really happened, and from what I’ve heard, it’s a wild ride full of twists and turns!
As we discussed, the series I Will Find You isn’t filmed in typical locations like the British countryside or a private, gated neighborhood. Curious about where it was filmed? Keep reading to learn more.
I Will Find You location guide: Where was the Harlan Coben series filmed?

I Will Find You was filmed across Canada, specifically in Kingston, Toronto and Ontario.
The series was filmed between April and August 2025, with key locations including Kingston Penitentiary – which served as the prison David escaped from – and the University of Toronto Mississauga campus.
More filming took place in New York City in late August 2025, featuring iconic spots like Washington Square Park, Central Park, and Times Square. These locations are familiar to viewers of the show, as they’re where we first see Rachel (Britt Lower) assisting David in maintaining his disguise in New York – before they are discovered.
“I Will Find You” is Harlan Coben’s first mystery series for Netflix that takes place in the United States. His previous adaptations were typically located in the UK or other European nations such as Spain and France.
Harlan Coben shared that Netflix has been a fantastic collaborator worldwide, and he’s excited to now work with them on projects within the United States. He also praised the talented team involved, calling them a ‘dream team,’ according to Tudum.
