It’s been a while since Daniel Kaluuya appeared in a movie, but the actor known for his roles in ‘Get Out’ and ‘Nope’ has a promising new film in the works.
Daniel Kaluuya will work again with director Shaka King, who previously helped him win an Oscar for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah. Their next project will be a new action-packed crime thriller, as reported by Deadline.
The upcoming movie, currently titled ‘The Parlay,’ is written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie (known for ‘Him’). So far, only the film’s genre has been revealed; specific plot details remain undisclosed.
Teyana Taylor, known for her work in One Battle After Another, is reportedly being considered for a part in the movie, but hasn’t confirmed her involvement yet.

Daniel Kaluuya most recently appeared on screen in Jordan Peele’s film Nope in 2022. He also lent his voice to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023, and that same year he helped write and direct the drama The Kitchen.
He’s expected to return to acting in a big way very soon, with several projects already lined up. These include the drama Misty Green, directed by Chris Rock, and a sci-fi thriller called Hotel Hotel Hotel Hotel from A24, which is being directed by Michael Shanks (known for his work on Together).
He’s also continuing to work on a movie adaptation of Barney the Dinosaur, but there haven’t been any recent announcements about its progress.
This will be King’s first major film role since Judas and the Black Messiah (2021), which received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and won an Oscar for Best Song as well as a Best Actor award for Daniel Kaluuya.
