All 6 Marvel & DC Movies & TV Shows Still To Come In 2025

2025 promises to be another exciting year for superhero enthusiasts, as six new Marvel and DC movies and TV shows are set to premiere. This year has already been filled with anticipation for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the releases of Captain America: Brave New World, Daredevil: Born Again, Thunderbolts*, Ironheart, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Meanwhile, the revitalized DC Universe has taken flight with the release of a new Superman series. The thrilling adventures continue in 2025, as additional projects are poised to debut on both the big and small screens.

Among the six films directly linked to tales and figures from Marvel and DC Comics, it’s important not to overlook the upcoming “The Toxic Avenger” movie. Initially set to debut at Fantastic Fest in 2023, this remake will officially release in theaters on August 29, 2025. Although its brief Marvel Comics limited series, which ran for 11 issues from 1992 to 1993, might not seem like a strong tie-in, technically speaking, it does make “The Toxic Avenger” an upcoming Marvel production. Death: The High Cost of Living (July 31)

On July 31, 2025, the final chapter of “The Sandman” on Netflix, adapted from Neil Gaiman’s DC Comics series from 1989-1996, will arrive. Entitled “Death: The High Cost of Living,” this bonus episode centers around Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Dream’s (Tom Sturridge) elder sibling. In the 1993 Vertigo Comics issue with a similar title, Death steps out of her role as the personification of death to lead a suicidal character named Sexton on an emotional journey of self-exploration during her rare one-day-every-hundred-year vacation from immortality. This heartfelt and poignant episode serves as the touching conclusion to Netflix’s “The Sandman.

6) Eyes Of Wakanda (August 1)

Following the debut of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, the animated “Eyes of Wakanda” series will build upon the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Debuting as the first animated show set within Earth 616’s main continuity, the Marvel Studios Animation series follows Wakandan warriors on a global quest spanning centuries to retrieve stolen vibranium artifacts. The voices of new Wakandan characters, including Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Steve Toussaint, and others, can be heard in “Eyes of Wakanda“. This return to the fictional African nation serves as a precursor to the further development of the “Black Panther” franchise before the production of “Black Panther 3“.

5) Iron Man and His Awesome Friends (August 11)

In a different continuity than the MCU but produced by Marvel Studios Animation, the show titled “Iron Man and His Amazing Pals” introduces Tony Stark’s Iron Man (Mason Blomberg), Riri Williams’ Ironheart (Kapri Ladd), and Amadeus Cho’s Iron Hulk (Aidyn Ahn) to a preschool audience. These armored buddies will join forces to protect the world on Disney Jr., with additional Marvel characters like Vision, Ultron, Swarm, Absorbing Man, Captain America, Black Panther, and Spider-Man making appearances as well. While brief series of shorts have previously introduced these young heroes, “Iron Man and His Amazing Pals” will delve deeper into their development.

4) Peacemaker Season 2 (August 21)

In its second season, the series titled Peacemaker will continue to intertwine elements from its initial run yet be established within the freshly rejuvenated DC Universe. John Cena is set to reprise his role as Christopher Smith’s Peacemaker following a recent appearance in the 2025 remake of Superman. Many characters from season 1 will return, along with members of the Justice Gang from Superman and Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr., strengthening Peacemaker‘s position within the new DCU. 3) Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires (September 19)

Working together with Warner Bros. Animation and Mexican animation studio Ánima, the upcoming film “Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires” presents Horacio García Rojas as Yohualli Coatl, a priest in King Moctezuma II’s court who is an orphan. He fights against Spanish invaders to safeguard his people while disguised as the masked hero Batman. Entirely produced in Mexico, “Aztec Batman” will introduce Mexican adaptations of well-known characters from the Batman universe, such as the Joker, Two-Face, and Batman himself. The animated movie is slated for a theatrical release in Mexico on September 18, 2025, followed by streaming on HBO Max on September 19th.

2) Marvel Zombies (October 3)

Building on the foundation laid in the initial season of the animated “What If…?” series, Marvel Studios Animation presents “Marvel Zombies,” a four-episode arc delving into a world overrun by zombies. In this undead reality, characters like Red Guardian, Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, Ironheart, and others will find themselves battling against a horde led by a zombified Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen). The source of these grotesque creatures can be traced back to a Quantum Virus that Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne inadvertently brought back from the Quantum Realm. While the exact storyline “Marvel Zombies” will unfold remains shrouded in mystery, this series promises to be an entertaining extension of the Multiverse Saga.

1) Wonder Man (December)

The upcoming live-action installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, set for release in 2025, will mark the final superhero production that year. In December, Disney+ will premiere “Wonder Man,” featuring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a powerful actor in Hollywood who tries out for the lead role in a TV series about superheroes. Joining him in this project are Ben Kingsley, Ed Harris, Demetrius Grosse, Lauren Glazier, and others, as they delve deeper into unexplored realms of the MCU.
