In just a few short days, we’ll be heading back to Arlen, Texas as the fourteenth season of “King of the Hill” is set to debut on Hulu on August 4th. All ten episodes will be available at once, making it ripe for binge-watching enthusiasts eager to catch up with the Hill family. The series has been praised by critics, earning a fantastic “100% fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes – an impressive achievement indeed! With such positive buzz surrounding its return, it’s a great time to remind ourselves of what makes “King of the Hill” so special before its release.
Initially, Nick Valdez from egmr.ru offered his own evaluation of the series, awarding it a unique rating. Here’s how he expressed his views on the resurrection of the Hill family: “King of the Hill shows no fear in progressing with the times and making necessary adaptations to suit the contemporary era. Changes have been made to the voice cast, and new characters have been introduced to enrich Arlen’s world in meaningful ways. Crucially, it never seems as though anything has been altered merely for change’s sake. Each adjustment aligns with the character traits that viewers grew to cherish over the years, but they’ve also been given updates that create engaging new narratives. King of the Hill is back and stronger than ever before.” You can find the complete review below.

On Rotten Tomatoes, a perfect score of 100% doesn’t imply that every critic considers a series flawless; instead, it signifies that all critics had favorable opinions about the product in question. For instance, The A.V. Club stated, “King Of the Hill is a triumph. The show isn’t flawless, but it strikes the right balance.” Variety also voiced their positive feedback, saying, “Hank’s back where he belongs.” Additionally, Entertainment Weekly expressed a favorable review with this statement: “When ‘King of the Hill’ tackles more complex issues like cultural appropriation, the manosphere, misinformation, surveillance culture, online shaming, it does so skillfully using its unique mix of insight, humor, and absurdity.” You can find more reviews on Rotten Tomatoes by clicking here.
In my perspective, it’s fascinating to see how much has transformed since our last encounter in Arlen, Texas. It appears Hank Hill accepted a job offer in Saudi Arabia, relocating him and Peggy to a house strikingly American in the heart of the Middle Eastern country for quite some time. Interestingly, their son Bobby seems to have opted out of this journey, as he’s now managing a restaurant in Dallas instead. Judging by the promotional materials, it seems each character has undergone significant changes.
