Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife Meg Mathews shares sweet throwback snap of them together as Oasis prepare for first live shows in 16 years

Meg Mathews, Noel Gallagher’s former spouse, posted an affectionate flashback photo of them both before the upcoming Oasis reunion tour.

The Live ’25 tour marks the first time the band has performed together since their contentious breakup and dissolution, which occurred during the troubled Dig Out Your Soul tour back in 2009.

Regarding the performances, Noel’s former partner looked back on Noel’s preparations for his debut gig with the band.

Accompanying a photo of us vacationing, she wrote: “Here’s Noel preparing for our first show… In just a week, Oasis will return.

1996 saw Oasis playing iconic gigs at Knebworth on August 10th and 11th. As a prelude to their energetic performances, they would toss massive inflatable footballs into the crowd, followed by hits like Columbia, Acquiesce, and Supersonic.

Meg met Noel Gallagher in 1994 in London through her roommate MTV presenter Rebecca de Ruvo.

Noel was dating Rebecca at the time, however, he eventually left her for Meg.

In June 1997, the ex-partners, having a child named Anais, got married in Las Vegas. Regrettably, their union did not last long and they parted ways through divorce only four years after tying the knot.

Following the announcement that Oasis will release additional tickets for their highly anticipated summer reunion tour, here’s what we can expect next.

Known as one of the legendary Britpop groups, they’re coming together again to perform a string of concerts in stadiums throughout the UK, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, North, Central, and South America. Their first performance will take place at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4th.

On their official website, it was announced on Wednesday that due to the approaching concerts, there might be an opportunity to sell a minimal amount of extra tickets as the promoters finish checking the viewpoints and perfecting the production.

‘These final production releases will happen over the coming days.’

After the first announcement, countless enthusiastic fans stood in digital lines for hours, eagerly anticipating purchasing sought-after concert tickets for the band’s comeback performances. However, upon trying to buy them, they discovered that ticket costs had escalated due to a ‘dynamic pricing’ strategy.

Following its request, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is urging Ticketmaster to reconsider how it identifies tickets and communicates with customers.

In September, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) initiated an inquiry on Ticketmaster to determine if they employed ‘unfair business tactics,’ provided ‘transparent and prompt’ information about dynamic pricing for tickets, and possibly forced customers to purchase tickets quickly.

The guard-dog expressed worry that Ticketmaster, responsible for selling over 900,000 tickets for the Oasis concerts, might have violated consumer protection regulations.

According to Downing Street, everyone should have an equal opportunity to secure tickets for musical and sports events.

According to Ticketmaster UK, they aim to deliver an uncomplicated, clear, and user-oriented service experience.

The premium tickets marketed as ‘platinum’ were priced approximately 2.5 times higher than regular ones. Yet, the company failed to clarify that these tickets offer no extra perks and are situated in the same section of the venue as standard tickets.

The CMA said this risked consumers being mislead into thinking the platinum tickets were better.

One point raised by the oversight body was that certain types of standing tickets were priced differently, with the less costly tickets being snapped up before the higher-priced options became available.

Fans were made to stand in lengthy lines unaware that they’d be paying a higher price than initially thought, according to the CMA. (CMA stands for Competition and Markets Authority)

Over the course of the probe, Ticketmaster has tweaked certain elements of its ticketing sales procedure; however, at this point, the CMA doesn’t believe these modifications adequately address their apprehensions.

Hayley Fletcher, acting as the Senior Director for Consumer Protection at the CMA, stated that fans had encountered issues while purchasing Oasis tickets from Ticketmaster, leading us to believe these issues merited a thorough examination.

We worry that Oasis fans might not have received sufficient information, or could have been unintentionally misguided about the quality of the tickets they purchased, thinking they were superior to what they actually were.

All ticket-selling platforms ought to ensure they adhere to legal regulations and treat their clients equitably. Achieving this fosters a positive experience for consumers, which ultimately benefits all parties involved.

Oasis last year blamed its management for the dynamic pricing fiasco.

The band stated they were unaware that the system would be utilized, with the decision being made at discussions among Ticketmaster, promoters, and management, rather than themselves.

This is despite the fact that Debbie Gwyther, 40, the girlfriend of frontman Liam, manages him.

According to a statement from the band, there has been much discussion about issues buyers faced with the functioning of dynamic ticketing. However, it’s important to note that Oasis does not control decisions related to ticketing and pricing, these matters are handled by their promoters and management. The band claims they were unaware that dynamic pricing would be employed in any of their events.

Although earlier discussions among promoters, Ticketmaster, and the band’s representatives led to an optimistic ticketing strategy designed to benefit fans – incorporating dynamic pricing to maintain affordable ticket costs and minimize scalping – the actual implementation fell short of the desired outcome.

Despite everyone’s best efforts to provide an exceptional fan experience, the extraordinary level of demand made it impossible to meet that goal.

Representing Ticketmaster UK, our spokesperson shared that our goal is to offer a top-notch ticketing service by ensuring it’s straightforward, clear, and user-focused. We appreciate the Competition and Markets Authority’s suggestions as they aid in refining the industry for the benefit of fans.
