Gypsy Rose Blanchard is sharing her truth.
Ever since I stepped out of prison, having served my time for the tragic murder of my mother Dee Dee Blanchard in 2015, I’ve been relentlessly pursuing justice. I hold my ex, Nicholas Godejohn, fully responsible for his part in this heinous act, as he serves his life sentence.
In a post on Instagram dated June 25th, Gypsy stated, ‘When I received my punishment, I accepted the consequences of my actions.’ I’ve served my time, and that was my responsibility. For years, I’ve been bearing this burden. I don’t owe anything more to the past. Regarding Nicholas Godejohn, yes, he is a deeply troubled individual.
She went on to say, “He was aware that he distinguished between what’s right and what’s wrong,” she added. “Although I may have inadvertently controlled situations, this kind of control isn’t born from malice. It’s frequently a response to past hurts, fear of rejection, or a lack of emotional resources. The crucial aspect is intention.
As an ardent admirer putting words to paper, I can’t help but reflect on the heartfelt statements made by the captivating figure from “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up”. Having served eight years of a ten-year sentence for a crime she admitted to, she unequivocally asserted that her intention was never to mislead anyone. Yet, she acknowledged the profound impact her actions have had on others and underscored the necessity of introspection and self-improvement to rectify those wrongs.
She penned down, “Nicholas opted to proceed with his actions that evening.” That action was a choice he made, and he must face the repercussions of his choice. His Autism/Asperger’s diagnosis does not absolve him from what he has done. Mental health is intricate, but accountability is crucial, and no one is immune to legal responsibility.
The reality TV personality, who is both mom and fiancée to Ken Urker, and mother of their five-month-old daughter Aurora, pointed out that Nicolas’s outcome was determined by a group consisting of judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and 12 jury members, all of whom examined the same evidence accessible online.
Gypsy expressed that she will no longer bear the burden of the actions committed by her ex, who was convicted of first-degree murder in November 2018.
She expressed that “I’ve accepted the accountability for myself,” she revealed. “The upcoming phase is about healing, progression, and reclaiming my life. It’s liberation. I’m proceeding with understanding, tranquility, and self-forgiveness. The verdict has been given; the court case is concluded.
The woman, who had previously implicated her mother for Munchausen by proxy, further stated that Nicholas’ verdict represented “justice, not only for DeeDee, but also for me, who was let down by the system throughout my entire life.
She pondered and realized that justice had been upheld and her time served. She understood that no words she could say would ever erase the pain or bring Dee Dee back. Yet, from the deepest part of her heart, she would continue to genuinely apologize to them, both now and in the future.
She ended her message by thanking her supporters, stating that their affection meant more than words could express.
Gypsy also had a response for her critics, saying, “You sparked something within me. You fueled my determination to disprove you. And look at that, I managed it. Despite the long odds, despite the clamor, I remained steadfast.
