And just like that, Kim Cattrall has spoken.
After Michael Patrick King, the creator of “Sex and the City”, revealed that the sequel series “And Just Like That” would conclude following its existing third season on August 1st, the actress posted a mysterious message on her Instagram account.
After a particularly tiring week, Kim shared a beautiful sunset view over the water, accompanied by a heart and kissing emoji, expressing: “A week filled with length has finally come to an end.
Apart from Cattrall, another ‘Sex and the City’ cast member, Sarah Jessica Parker, who features in the revival series along with Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, has voiced her thoughts about the enduring impact of her character.
In this paraphrase, I aimed to maintain the original meaning while making it more fluid and easier to read.
For 27 years, Carrie Bradshaw has held a special place in my professional heart. I believe that I’ve cherished her more than anyone else. Though others have felt the same way about her, they’ve also expressed frustration, criticism, and support. The harmonious blend of these emotions has been an incredible soundtrack and constant companion throughout this journey.
She continued, “MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete.”
Apart from being awestruck, Cynthia praised the franchise’s long-term progress, describing it as “a pure joy throughout its entirety.
She expressed her disbelief that the exciting, stunning journey of “And Just Like That” is nearing its end, as she penned it on her personal Instagram. She shared that she’ll deeply miss working alongside these individuals every day, but understands that they will forever be intertwined in each other’s lives.
Despite feeling deeply saddened by the end of the show, Kristin conveyed her appreciation to the team who put in so much effort on our production with genuine affection.
In her message, she expressed gratitude by saying, “I want to thank each and every one of you. Your support means a lot to me and I truly appreciate it!
As a lifestyle connoisseur looking back, I must say that the much-anticipated revival titled “And Just Like That” made its grand debut in 2021, marking over a decade and a half since the original “Sex and the City” series concluded. Interestingly enough, among the show’s four principal cast members, it was only Kim who chose not to reprise her role in this new chapter.
She shared with Variety in a recent interview, “It’s wise to know when something has reached its limit,” she said. “Additionally, I wished to preserve the essence of the show for me. The path ahead appeared evident.
Although Kim returned to play Samantha Jones in the final episode of season two, it was just a single appearance. In an interview with Today in 2023, she stated, “I’ve reached my limit here.

In his August 1st Instagram post, Michael expressed that the storytelling within the universe of “Sex and the City” was nearing its conclusion. As he penned the final episode for season 3 of “And Just Like That…”, it struck him as a fitting point to bring the series to a close.
We delayed revealing the news, as we didn’t want the term ‘final’ to diminish the enjoyment of watching the series,” he explained further. “With heartfelt appreciation, we express our gratitude to all viewers who welcomed these characters into their homes and hearts throughout the years.
