Marvel Finally Unleashes Venom’s Ultimate Form (and It’s Terrifying)

For quite some time, fans have been anticipating that the release of Venom in Marvel’s new Ultimate Universe would occur. The whispers began when Peter decided to make the AI controlling his Stark-created suit a replica of himself, and became even louder when it displayed unsettlingly human-like behavior, often referring to Peter’s family as if they were its own. Matters escalated further when Peter’s son Richard adopted the suit, transforming it into a Venom symbiote likeness, and assuming the name Venom after encountering a dimension-traveling Miles Morales. At long last, after more than a year of suspense, we have been treated to our initial glimpse of the Ultimate Venom design, and it lives up to our darkest expectations.

Ultimate Venom Unleashed

In a turn of unfortunate events, Richard Parker’s decision to stow away on his father’s return journey to New York City was prompted by a distress message from his girlfriend, Black Cat, who requested his assistance. Upon reaching the designated location, he discovered too late that it was a trap set by not only Felicia, but also Wilson Fisk and a group of heavily armed Bullseye guards. To Richard’s surprise, Felicia had been manipulating him all along to extract information about Spider-Man, with the intention of handing him over to Kingpin for his nefarious purposes. Fisk presented Richard with an unappealing choice: either he reveals everything he knows about Spider-Man immediately, or they resort to torture to extract the information.

Richard, who’s never experienced anything like this terrifying situation before, is left in a state of shock. The AI named Peter steps in to safeguard him when he realizes the danger, which Richard accepts gratefully. Peter instructs Richard to shut his eyes and wait for further instructions. In response, the Venom suit takes over, deploying its extraordinary abilities against the surprised villains. Transforming into a form similar to its main universe counterpart, it displayed massive teeth and an imposing physique. To make matters worse, tendrils erupted from it in all directions, whipping through the air and disintegrating the Bullseyes, blindly striking one in the eyes. Recognizing their helplessness against this new creature, Fisk and his crew retreated, while Venom ensnared Felicia’s father in its nanotech goo. Roaring at Black Cat as she pleaded for him to stop, it can be assumed that Richard regained control once he forcedfully took it back. Even a month later, Fisk and his associates were wary of confronting Venom directly and sought alternative strategies to avoid him.

A Monster in the Making

From the moment I laid eyes on the picotech suit, I knew deep down that Venom was an inevitable force. Yet, this new iteration of the alien symbiote is downright chilling to witness in action. He embodies lethal protection, transgressing boundaries that Peter Parker would never cross for his mission of safeguarding Richard. Although it’s inevitable that the suit will eventually transform into a full-blown supervillain and Spider-Man will have no choice but to confront him, the journey leading up to this point is shaping up to be an intriguing spectacle.

Richard is at a crucial stage in his life where he’s seeking to understand what it means to be a man. Unfortunately for him, he now has a somewhat creepy and undeniably non-human version of his father constantly whispering in his ear, almost all the time. Richard seems to have taken ownership of the AI’s actions, evidenced when he apologized to Felicia after the monster-bash, stating “I’m sorry that we scared you.”

When Richard refers to himself and Venom as ‘we,’ it serves as a warning sign that things with Venom are quickly spiraling out of control. The future doesn’t look bright for either Richard or Spider-Man, but I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.

In this iteration, Venom is an extraordinary tech suit resembling Spider-Man’s physical prowess and capable of stretching to unprecedented lengths with tendrils that tear tissue as if it were paper. He shares Peter’s determination to safeguard his loved ones, yet he’s less bound by the ethical constraints that keep our neighborhood Spiderman in balance. A limitless Spider-Man is both terrifying and captivating, making his evolution quite intriguing. As we anticipate Venom’s trajectory in the coming days, it’s clear that the Spider-Man clan has a battle on their hands first.
