According to various opinions, Storm is often considered among the top, if not the best, member of the X-Men due to her unique ability to control weather. This power has made her a beloved character for many X-Men fans since she first appeared. Just like the rest of the team, Storm has worn numerous costumes over the years, but her outfits have consistently stood out. She effortlessly pulls off any style, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Storm’s appearances have always been designed with her powers in mind, making it easy for her to use them while wearing her costumes. What might seem tacky on others, Storm has masterfully carried off for more than five decades.
Her most outstanding fashion choices range from a traditional suit to an extraordinary alternative reality, with number one being particularly intriguing.
7) Classic Suit
How can you overlook Storm’s top looks without considering her first suit? It’s impeccable in both style and functionality. Her half-cape, ideal for sailing through the winds, and her headdress containing lockpicks, add unique charm to her ensemble. The gold accents on her boots complement her outfit beautifully, setting her apart from the rest of the team. With an iconic look like this one, it’s challenging to surpass, yet each subsequent costume has managed to do so in some way.
6) Ultimate Black Panther
In the world of Ultimate Black Panther, Storm has certainly left an impression. Her latest appearance sets her apart, and the addition of civilian-like attire adds a unique touch. The long braided hairstyle also contributes to making her more noticeable in the current Ultimate Universe. Yet, she remains true to herself in every aspect.
Since she’s adopted this appearance, it’s quickly gained popularity among fans and has even been included in Marvel Rivals as one of Storm’s costumes. It’s fascinating to note that fellow Marvel enthusiasts seem to appreciate this outfit just as much as many others do.
5) God of Thunder
For a short while, Storm, the Asgardian God of Weather and a member of the X-Men, boasted an impressive appearance among her peers. During this transitional period when Storm lacked powers, Loki offered her a chance. Aware that cunning and deceit might ensue, she declined, despite the allure of the novel outfit and a hammer of her own.
Ever since then, this style has made a reappearance on select occasions, serving as a playful “What If?” speculation. If given the chance to witness her wear it without any limitations, it would undoubtedly take the top spot. Still, number five is quite impressive too.
4) Outback Era
From a movie enthusiast’s perspective, I can’t help but feel that one of the most overlooked costumes hails from an underappreciated era. This costume was a comeback of sorts for Storm, as it marked her reclaiming her powers after the mohawk phase. Despite its simplicity, this outfit is breathtakingly vibrant, especially during this period with its intricate inkwork. The lightning bolt emblem, boldly declaring “FEEL THE WRATH OF THE GODDESS!“, adds a powerful touch that truly embodies her character.
In her role as a leader during that period, her attire spoke volumes about her character at that moment. The Outback era was rich with captivating tales, and each costume perfectly suited the needs of the team. Even Colossus could have benefited from pants, at least!
3) Uncanny X-Force
As a movie enthusiast, I must say that the latest design for Storm’s X-Force outfit truly hits the mark. The addition of a striking mohawk and the contrasting black and white costume is spot on. The bold “X” emblazoned on her cape takes this ensemble to new heights, making it one of her most impressive costumes yet. While it might not be the traditional outfit that comes to mind when thinking of Storm, it definitely deserves recognition as a top contender.
This option could claim the highest positions if not for the fact that the following two are incredibly legendary. In truth, without their existence, it would be exceptional.
2) Jim Lee Redesign
Once more, Jim Lee’s redesigns of X-Men #1 are making an impact. The switch from her all-black suit to white was a daring choice that proved incredibly effective. As the animated series is about to premiere, these designs have been translated onto the screen, and now many associate this image with Storm. Adding her iconic mohawk would complete the quintessential Storm look.
Although her initial outfit might not have been depicted precisely in the debut issue because of ink work, it turned out to be a fortunate mishap. Just like how transforming Hulk from gray to green, Storm’s white suit has gained immense recognition, symbolizing her character. However, there’s one costume that surpasses it in popularity.
1) Punk Storm
Our favorite redesign of Storm was undoubtedly the one featuring the mohawk and punk fashion. This revamp signaled a fresh phase in her heroic journey, incorporating elements that have persisted across all her costumes. The mohawk has garnered the most admiration, while her leather outfit added an extra dose of coolness to her image. It symbolized both her role as a weather goddess and a punk rocker, reflecting her true essence perfectly.
At one point, a mohawk hairstyle might’ve turned heads, but now it’s a common sight – and Storm wore it with panache when others couldn’t. Even without her powers, she was a formidable leader, standing tall among the best. It’s not surprising that Forge fell for her during this period as well.
