It’s no surprise that many anime series have been adapted into video games. Popular franchises like Dragon Ball, One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Jujutsu Kaisen have all allowed fans to experience their favorite worlds through gaming. However, even with anime’s growing global popularity, not every anime game stays available for long. Recently, it was announced that Tokyo Revengers is the latest anime game facing closure, with its digital version scheduled to be taken down.
The action RPG Tokyo Revengers: Last Mission, which launched in November 2024, is shutting down. The game’s developers recently announced that service will end on January 21st of next year, and players can no longer make purchases within the game. Here’s the official announcement from the Tokyo Revengers: Last Mission team:
Thank you for playing Tokyo Revengers: Last Mission. We’ve decided to end service for the game on January 21st, 2026 at 12:00 (JST) due to current circumstances and future plans. We will also stop selling in-game currency on November 20th, 2025 at 12:00 (JST). If you have unused in-game currency, you can request a refund between January 21st and March 22nd, 2026. Thank you for your support!
Tokyo Revengers’ Anime Marches On
Though The Last Mission is finishing up in January, Tokyo Revengers will continue with its anime adaptation. A new season is planned for next year, and it will cover the “Three Deities Arc,” which presents challenges for Takemichi as he pursues his goals. Liden Films announced the anime’s return earlier this year and provided details about the 2026 release.
The fierce battle between the Tokyo Manji Gang and Tenjiku had devastating consequences. As everyone deals with their loss, Takemichi is shocked by Kisaki Tetta’s death, and Mikey, having learned about Takemichi’s time leaps, makes a crucial decision. Takemichi manages to reach a future where his girlfriend, Hinata, is alive, but she’s mysteriously missing. Now, in a new era dominated by three powerful gangs—the “Three Heavens”—a final quest for revenge is about to begin!
I watched as Tokyo Revengers wrapped up its original story in 2022, which probably means we won’t be getting many more seasons of the anime. It’s a good time to enjoy this time-travel adventure while we can! While the current ‘Three Deities Arc’ isn’t being advertised as the very end, the arc that follows it, ‘Kanto Manji Arc’, definitely will be.
