A New Game Combines Pokemon and Skylanders (And It’s Already A Success)

Imagine a new game that brilliantly combines the best parts of Pokémon and Skylanders – that’s pretty cool, right? Well, that game actually exists, and it’s already proving to be a hit! It seems like this is just the beginning for this exciting new title.

I’ve been checking out this new game called Aerthlings, and it’s seriously cool. It’s like if Pokémon and Skylanders had a baby! You collect these little creatures, but here’s the twist: they’re actual physical figures you get in blind boxes. You scan them into the game, and each one has its own stats, abilities, and everything. Then you build a team and battle these creatures called Moonlings to try and restore the world of Aerth. Honestly, that’s just the beginning – there’s a ton more to discover! It started as a Kickstarter and it’s now available on mobile and PC.

What Makes Aerthlings Stand Out

What makes Aerthlings special is the Aerthlings themselves! While you can find rarer, more powerful ones in blind boxes, even duplicates are unique. Once an Aerthling is scanned into the game, it develops its own individual stats and appearance, meaning no two are ever exactly alike.

In the game, you can trade your characters (called ‘figs’) with friends to help them grow stronger. Each time a fig is traded, it gains experience and evolves, encouraging you to trade often and build a more powerful team by swapping characters with friends.

When you begin playing, you’ll guide your Aerthlings to discover the land, gather resources, and build your base. You can also complete quests, meet different characters, and construct various buildings. Plus, you’ll need to defend the world from Moonlings using each Aetherling’s unique abilities and attacks.

This campaign features 24 collectible characters, with designs ranging from adorable creatures like Mewdon, Flori, and Muncheeko to powerful ones like Volcrys and Polara. Each character is one-of-a-kind, and even more will be revealed as the campaign progresses. The project has already reached its funding goal with 16 days remaining, and a PC version has just been added! This means there’s still time to unlock even more features. You can find all the details and support the campaign here.
