Abby Howard, Matt Howard Share Pregnancy Loss of Baby Girl at 17 Weeks

Matt Howard and Abby Howard are in mourning.  

The TikTok couple-famous for sharing videos about their family-announced the heartbreaking loss of their baby girl at 17 weeks of pregnancy. 

We are heartbroken to share the news of the loss of our baby girl, who was born too soon,” the couple wrote in an Instagram post on Sept. 28, accompanied by a photo of them holding hands in the hospital. “During a regular check-up, our doctor couldn’t detect a heartbeat. An ultrasound soon after confirmed our worst fears; the technician told us, ‘I’m so sorry, I don’t have good news.’”

Matt and Abby, both 27, sadly announced that their daughter died due to a genetic condition at about 17 weeks of pregnancy, a heartbreaking outcome they never expected. They shared this tragic news, expressing that it was something they never hoped to experience.

“It was hard to believe the news,” the Unplanned podcast hosts went on to say. “The sadness is overwhelming. However, we are incredibly thankful for the time we shared with her. And we haven’t lost hope; it’s been a constant source of support for us in many ways.”

They ended their message by saying they are currently mourning and will keep looking for ways to remember her outside of social media. Thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. They also expressed gratitude to everyone for sharing in the celebration of her life over the last 17 weeks. Thank you to all.

She announced the news on Instagram with the caption: “Baby No. 3 is on the way!” She also shared, “It somehow almost feels more exciting this third time around because now we truly know just how wonderful it is.”

The couple shared this feeling with People magazine following the news, explaining that having already raised two children made this latest development “more exciting than ever.”

“This pregnancy has been unlike my previous two,” Abby shared. “There are many days when I have to consciously remember that I’m expecting and that it’s actually real!”
