LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight honors the most famous versions of Batman from movies, TV, video games, and comic books. The game especially draws a lot of inspiration from Batman comics, which have been incredibly popular recently. A big reason for this popularity is DC’s Absolute collection of comics.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight recently showed off a new outfit for Batman in the game: the Absolute Batman suit. This version features a large, bold bat symbol and distinctive shoulder armor. The reveal trailer shows Batman fighting enemies with exaggerated, action-packed moves.
LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Features Absolute Batman
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight really captures the current Batman trend, with character designs and costumes that reference classic and memorable Batman films. It also clearly knows how much players love the Batman: Arkham games, and intentionally uses a similar style of gameplay.
The Absolute Batman comic series, with its unique take on the Batman story, has quickly become popular with fans. It’s no surprise that this style would appear in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and it’s a welcome addition to the game that players can unlock and use.
As a big Batman fan, I’m expecting the new LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game to pull a lot of inspiration from the classic movies and TV shows – that’s what most people will recognize and love, right? But honestly, I’m really excited to see them including so much from the Absolute Batman comic series! They’ve nailed the look – the long ears on the cowl, that big bat symbol on his chest, and even the shoulder spikes – it’s awesome!
It Includes An Absolute Catwoman Skin, Too
This LEGO Batman game features a variety of playable characters, and Catwoman even has a costume inspired by her appearance in the Absolute canon. It would be great to see similar costumes for the newer versions of Robin, based on their designs in Absolute Batman – they’d be perfect as large LEGO figures piloting giant mechs.
For Batman and LEGO fans, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight looks like the ultimate collection. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on May 22, 2026, and is also planned for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026.
