The esteemed Japanese game developer Ancient is making a comeback to modern consoles on the 18th of September, with their eagerly awaited game, Earthion, officially setting its launch date.
This game, originally created for the Sega Genesis, boasts an energetic soundtrack composed by Yuzo Koshiro from Streets of Rage. It’s earned lots of praise on Steam, and you can check out our Time Extension team’s thoughts about it through this link.
For those who haven’t been following this one, here’s the blurb:

Due to Earth’s resources running out and its environment becoming severely damaged, a majority of humanity has moved to Mars as a new home. However, when Earth is attacked by hostile invaders, there’s no alternative but for mankind to defend itself. As an environmental researcher named Azusa Takanashi, you will pilot the advanced spacecraft YK-IIA and lead the most crucial counterattack in human history. Giving up is not an option!
Though the game was constructed and styled with 16-bit technology as a reference, it appears stunningly impressive and guarantees smooth gameplay on Sony’s equipment.
Should you want to own this game in its physical form, you can purchase different versions from Limited Run Games. These options include the game itself, as well as accompanying controllers, and a special Collector’s Edition.
