Bandai Namco has at long last announced the newest installment in the Ace Combat series – Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. Developed by Project Aces, the game centers around the decline of the legendary “Wings of Theve” and your mission to uphold their legacy. You can watch the reveal trailer below.
The next installment in the Ace Combat series, Ace Combat 8, is set to release in 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game takes place in 2029. Players will take on the role of a pilot aboard the Endurance, a ship carrying refugees following an attack on the Federation of Central Usea.
As a member of the “Wings of Theve,” the resistance group fighting for the capital city of the FCU, your mission is to liberate the nation from the Republic of Sotoa. You’ll have the support of three allies, but reclaiming your country won’t be easy.
The game is being developed with support from ILCA, the team behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and early signs suggest it will play much like a traditional Ace Combat title. We’ll share more information in the months ahead.
