Adam Scott Auditioned for Hellraiser 6, Despite Dying in Part 4

Adam Scott, now known for his role in Severance, began his acting career thirty years ago with a small part in a film. Although his character didn’t make it to the end, Scott was so eager to continue working on the project that he attempted to get cast in a different role for the sequel.

I’ve been a fan of Scott for years! It’s amazing to see him back in horror with his new movie, Hokum, which I just saw! He was on Late Night with Seth Meyers talking about it, and he shared some really interesting stories about his early work. Apparently, one of his first films was Hellraiser: Bloodline back in 1996. He even told Seth how he tried to get a part in Hellraiser: Hellseeker in 2002 – it’s cool to hear how dedicated he is to the genre.

Adam Scott Almost Appeared in 2 Hellraiser Movies

Scott explained that his agent submitted him for an audition for Hellraiser 6. He thought to himself, ‘Wait a minute, I was already in Hellraiser 4!’ But he needed work, so he decided to go to the audition anyway, hoping they wouldn’t realize he’d been in the series before.

He recalled being in the waiting room, looking around, and noticing an open door to an office. Inside, he saw a producer from Hellraiser 4. He quietly held up his portfolio, hoping the producer wouldn’t notice him yet, thinking if he did well, he might get a chance to work on Hellraiser 6.

Adam Scott Was Passed Over for Hellraiser: Hellseeker

Scott wasn’t cast in Hellraiser: Hellseeker, a role that eventually went to Dean Winters (known for Oz). Looking back, this might have been a good thing, as Scott continued to find success in his career regardless. He approached both Hellraiser: Hellseeker and Hellraiser: Bloodline simply as work. He wasn’t familiar with the Hellraiser series when he started, and while he wasn’t pleased with the final product of Bloodline, he was still excited to be working as an actor.

“I didn’t know about Hellraiser, but I was like, ‘Oh, this is an acting job,'” Scott shared.

While Scott is known for comedy roles like Ben Wyatt in Parks and Recreation, and appearances in shows like Party Down and The Good Place, he’s also dipped into other genres. He’s appeared in horror comedies such as Piranha 3D and the holiday horror film Krampus, and recently received critical acclaim for his work in the sci-fi thriller Severance.

Nowadays, Scott can be seen as the star of the new horror movie Hokum, .
