As a huge movie fan, it’s honestly getting impossible for Hollywood to surprise us anymore! It feels like every big reveal, casting choice, or plot detail leaks online way before it’s supposed to. Even trailers aren’t safe! I heard Marvel and Disney were trying to build hype for Avengers: Doomsday by dropping new teasers during the run of Avatar: Fire and Ash, but even those were spoiled thanks to leaks. It’s just so hard to keep anything under wraps these days, which is a real bummer for those of us who love being surprised!
This week brought a surprising announcement: a fifth Jackass movie is officially happening! Johnny Knoxville, star and creator of the popular series, revealed on social media that Paramount Pictures is planning a theatrical release this summer. It’s a welcome surprise for fans who thought the franchise might be finished.
Jackass 5 Is Officially Happening, And It Releases This Summer

I’m so excited! Last night, Knoxville shared some incredible news on Instagram – they’re making another Jackass movie! He announced it’s officially happening and will hit theaters on June 26, 2026. He said they wanted fans to hear it straight from the source, and honestly, it made my day! The only other hint we got was a comment from Steve-O – just a simple ‘Yeah dude!!!’ – which pretty much confirms he’ll be back for more mayhem. I can’t wait!
The newest Jackass movie has been four years in the making, following the release of Jackass Forever in 2022. Because of the title ‘Forever’ and the absence of some original cast members—including those who had passed away—many fans thought it would be the last Jackass film. Despite being released after the pandemic, the movie was a financial success, earning over $75 million on a $10 million budget. While this total was comparable to the first two Jackass films, it didn’t quite reach the $171 million earned worldwide by Jackass 3D in 2010.
One of the biggest questions surrounding Jackass 5 is who from the original cast will participate. Many of the longtime stars, like Johnny Knoxville (54), Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and others, are now in their 50s. With the cast aging and years of dangerous stunts behind them, Jackass Forever already introduced some new, younger members – Zach Holmes, Sean McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, Eric Manaka, and Rachel Wolfson – and it’s still uncertain if they’ll be back for another film.
Johnny Knoxville has been open about the serious injuries he sustained while making Jackass Forever. He explained that a stunt involving a bull resulted in a traumatic brain injury – including a concussion and brain hemorrhage – as well as a broken wrist and ribs. These injuries have made Knoxville think twice about the types of stunts he’ll attempt in the future, and fans are now wondering how risky the next Jackass movie will be.
