Ryan Gosling has quickly become known for starring in some of the most well-regarded films of the 21st century. Movies like La La Land, Barbie, Blade Runner 2049, and his recent hit, Project Hail Mary, have all received critical acclaim. A key to his success has been working with top directors such as Damien Chazelle, Greta Gerwig, Denis Villeneuve, and Phil Lord & Chris Miller. Now, following the massive success of Project Hail Mary, Gosling is partnering with more talented filmmakers for a brand new, currently unannounced project.
Ryan Gosling will star in a new movie directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the Oscar-winning directors of Everything Everywhere All at Once, according to Deadline. Currently, the film—which doesn’t have a title yet—is slated to come out on November 19, 2027, and plot details, including Gosling’s role, remain under wraps.
Ryan Gosling Is Set to Have a Huge 2027

Ryan Gosling has two major films coming out in 2027. In addition to a new project with The Daniels, he’s starring in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter, set to premiere in May. Starfighter actually finished filming last December, over a year before its release, which allows Gosling to also work on the film with The Daniels, expected to begin shooting this summer.
While the new Star Wars: Starfighter looks promising with a fresh story and no familiar faces, Ryan Gosling’s upcoming movie directed by The Daniels is generating a lot of buzz. The Daniels previously gained recognition with the quirky Swiss Army Man and then achieved major success with the critically acclaimed Everything Everywhere All at Once. That film, a moving story about the multiverse, is considered by many to be superior to Marvel’s multiverse films. Everything Everywhere All at Once brilliantly blended thrilling action sequences with heartfelt drama, creating a truly unique and globally appealing movie experience.
Considering The Daniels’ past work, their next film will likely demand an actor who can seamlessly blend different moods and styles. Ryan Gosling fits that bill perfectly. He proved in Project Hail Mary that he’s skilled at both comedic and dramatic roles, which will be a major asset in a Daniels film. Gosling’s experience is incredibly diverse – he’s starred in musicals, science fiction, and even quirky comedies – suggesting he can handle any challenge. Plus, as The Fall Guy shows, he’s comfortable with action-packed scenes.
Universal Pictures appears optimistic about the new movie from the directing duo known as The Daniels, planning its release during the peak of awards season. Ryan Gosling has been nominated for an Oscar three times, and this film could finally earn him the award he deserves – unless he wins for Project Hail Mary first. The Daniels previously directed Everything Everywhere All at Once, which won three acting Oscars, proving their ability to create roles that appeal to award voters. It’s clear why Gosling wanted to work with them, and hopefully, their new film will be just as impressive.
