The second season of Ahsoka will be available on Disney+ in just a few months, and many Star Wars enthusiasts are hopeful it will revitalize the series following a lackluster performance at the box office.
As a huge fan, I was honestly pretty disappointed when The Mandalorian and Grogu’s movie came out in May. The reviews weren’t great, and it felt like audiences didn’t rush to see it – box office numbers dropped quickly worldwide. It really made me worry about the future of the whole series, which I love!
As a big Star Wars fan, I have to say ‘Ahsoka’ really delivered! It quickly became one of Disney+’s most popular shows, and honestly, it was great to see Rosario Dawson truly shine as Ahsoka Tano – she’s always been a favourite character among fans, and this series finally gave her the spotlight she deserved.
We don’t know much about what will happen in the second season yet, but it’s likely to feature more of the compelling villain Grand Admiral Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen, and his rival Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi).
Wondering what to expect from the final episodes of Ahsoka season 2? Here’s a rundown of all the latest news and information.
Ahsoka season 2 release date speculation

While there’s no exact date yet, Disney announced that Ahsoka season 2 is coming in early 2027.
Star Wars fans have been patiently waiting to see what Dave Filoni, the head of Lucasfilm, has planned for one of his most famous characters, and it’s good to know the hardest part is over.
Ahsoka season 2 cast: Who could return?
In season 2 of Ahsoka, Rosario Dawson returns as Ahsoka Tano, the character who began as a Padawan during the Clone Wars and has become a Jedi Master in the New Republic era.
This actress is well-loved by fans of action, crime, and sci-fi thanks to her role as Claire Temple in several Marvel TV series like Daredevil and Luke Cage. She’s also known for appearances in films such as Clerks, Sin City, and Death Proof.
Eman Esfandi will play Ezra Bridger, a key character from the Rebels series, and is expected to have a larger part in the show’s second season after being absent for a significant portion of the first.
Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, Hayden Christensen, and Lars Mikkelsen are all returning to their roles in the next season of the show.
It’s still incredibly sad thinking about Ray Stevenson, who played the intriguing Baylan Skoll. Sadly, we lost him far too soon in May 2023 – he was only 58. The first episode of Ahsoka was a lovely tribute to his memory, and it’s clear how much he brought to the role, even in the limited screen time we got with him.
I was really excited to hear the voice cast for this project just got a huge boost! They’ve brought in Rory McCann, who I loved as The Hound in Game of Thrones, to take over the role. And get this – he’s joining David Tennant, another fantastic Scottish actor who’s famous for being Doctor Who! They’ll both be voicing Huyang, the adorable droid, which is just perfect casting in my opinion.
In June 2026, Claudia Black, who appeared in the first season of Ahsoka, announced she wouldn’t return as Nightsister Klothow. She stated her decision was due to a disagreement over salary.
Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi, confirmed he wouldn’t be making an appearance. This came after rumors surfaced, fueled by his wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead returning to her role as a Twi’lek character, while he stayed home to care for their children.
I stay home with my four-year-old son and handle things like taking him to school. Then I’m just puttering around the house, and I’ll often start a FaceTime call with my wife. I always forget she’ll appear green on the screen, though!
Here is a list of the Ahsoka cast members we expect to see more from in season 2:
- Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano
- Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren
- Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla
- Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati
- Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger
- Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker
- Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn
- Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll
- David Tennant as Huyang
- Jeryl Prescott Gallien as Aktropaw
- Jane Edwina Seymour as Lakesis
