Alexandra Daddario is known for her work in many popular TV shows and movies. She’s appeared in acclaimed HBO series like The White Lotus and True Detective, and currently stars in AMC’s Mayfair Witches, with the second season airing earlier this year. Recently, she’s been open about some of her past roles, and it’s refreshing to see her honesty.
Although Alexandra Daddario appears to be constantly working, she did take some time off after becoming a mother. Her next project is Hershey, a family drama based on the famous chocolate company. While this might be a different type of role than she’s recently played, she told Elle magazine she simply wanted to get back to acting.
I was eager to get back to work because I genuinely enjoy it. You can probably tell from the projects I’ve done for film and television. I sometimes even accept roles that aren’t ideal simply because I love being on set and working.
Alexandra Daddario has enjoyed success in many roles, but she’s also had some that weren’t well-received, and she’s refreshingly open about that. Though she hasn’t mentioned any specific projects recently, she’s previously discussed her experience with the Baywatch movie, where she played Summer Quinn. She described making the film as a difficult time, admitting she worried it would damage her career after appearing in a series of unsuccessful movies.
Look, going into this film, everyone knew it had big shoes to fill, being based on that massively popular TV show. And honestly, it just didn’t quite live up to the original – it didn’t have the same magic. But you know what? I still enjoyed it, and I don’t think it’ll hurt the lead actress’s career at all. It was a solid experience, even if it wasn’t a home run.
I’m a big fan of Alexandra Daddario, and it’s frustrating to see her constantly having to defend herself! I recently read that she had to address some really unfair criticism about her acting. She basically said she’s taken on roles that didn’t really let her shine, and it wasn’t a reflection of her talent. It’s great she’s speaking up for herself!
It’s true that not every part an actor plays will be a hit, but Alexandra Daddario pointed out she received an Emmy nomination for The White Lotus, which proves she’s a talented actress. She simply enjoys acting so much that she sometimes accepts roles in projects that aren’t top-tier.
Alexandra Daddario continues to be incredibly busy. She’s reprising her role as Rowan Fielding in the third season of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches and has several other projects lined up, including the film Hershey and the romantic comedy Happy Life alongside Ike Barinholtz. Even with projects that don’t succeed, she shows no signs of slowing down, and fans are eager to see what she does next.
