Nicola Walker plays Alice

Alice is a successful professional who works for a children’s clothing company. She’s married with two children and enjoys a close, friendly relationship with her longtime friend, Steve, who is recently divorced.

One night of unexpected connection between Steve and Alice’s young adult daughter destroys their friendship, and it may never recover.

I was totally shocked when I heard the news! Alice was absolutely devastated and immediately started plotting to break up the new couple. Honestly, she went all out, trying to ruin Steve’s life if she couldn’t get them to split up. It’s pretty intense!

Nicola Walker is a well-known British actress who has appeared in many popular TV shows. Some of her most notable roles include appearances in Spooks, Unforgotten, Last Tango in Halifax, The Split, Annika, and Marriage. Her recent work includes starring alongside Julianne Moore in the historical drama Mary & George.

Jemaine Clement plays Steve

Steve is Alice’s close friend, and they’ve known each other for a long time. He’s a successful hairstylist who works with celebrities, but he’s been feeling lonely since his divorce and is finding it hard to start dating again.

Everything shifts when Alice meets Izzy, her daughter, who is also recently heartbroken. This meeting leads to a surprising romance and creates complications for everyone.

Jemaine Clement first became well-known as one half of the comedy musical duo Flight of the Conchords, alongside Bret McKenzie. He’s also worked with Taika Waititi on projects like the film Eagle vs Shark and What We Do in the Shadows (the 2014 movie that later became an FX television series).

Clement recently appeared as Dr. Ian Garvin in the Avatar sequels, The Way of Water and Fire and Ash, and previously played Oliver Bird in the Marvel series Legion.

Yali Topol Margalith plays Izzy

Izzy is Alice’s daughter, known for her independent spirit. After a recent breakup with a distant boyfriend, she’s moved back in with her mother and started getting to know Steve, a friend of Alice’s. While she understands their relationship is a bit unusual, Izzy is determined to follow her heart, even if it means disagreeing with her mother’s attempts to end things.

Yali Topol Margalith has also starred in the popular BBC/Netflix series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and the Sky drama The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Joel Fry plays Daniel

Let me tell you about Daniel. He’s Alice’s husband, and the father of their son, Dom. He’s also a stepdad to Izzy, Alice’s daughter from a previous relationship. Now, Daniel’s always been totally cool with how close Alice is to their friend Steve, but when Steve starts a romance with Izzy, it really throws him. He’s trying to handle it with more grace than Alice, though – he’s definitely the calmer one in this situation.

Joel Fry is a comedic actor who’s well-known for his roles in shows like W1A, Plebs, Our Flag Means Death, and Bank of Dave. He’s recently been in Paddington in Peru, Inside No. 9, and the Doctor Who Christmas special, “Joy to the World.”

Tyrese Eaton-Dyce plays Dom

Dom is the son of Alice and Daniel, and he’s currently a student navigating the challenges of school and first love.

You might know Tyrese Eaton-Dyce from his appearances in BBC One’s Sherwood (season one) and the well-regarded independent film How to Have Sex.

Marcia Warren plays Val

Val is Alice’s mother, and she’s a fun-loving woman who doesn’t worry too much. She really knows how to enjoy life!

Marcia Warren is known for her roles in several popular shows. She starred alongside Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi in the ITV sitcom Vicious, and more recently played the Queen Mother in seasons 5 and 6 of The Crown.

Eilidh Fisher plays Rome

Rome is someone Dom knows from school, and they’re still working out what their relationship is exactly.

I’ve been really impressed with Eilidh Fisher lately! I just discovered she was Evie Galloway in the BBC’s Dope Girls, and she also played Bailey in The Power on Prime Video – a really interesting sci-fi show. Oh, and she even shared the screen with Saoirse Ronan in The Outrun, which I hear is fantastic. Definitely keeping an eye on her work now!
