Cold Iron Studios just announced Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, a bigger sequel letting up to four players team up to fight even more Xenomorphs. This version will only be available on current-generation consoles. Check out the trailer above for a first look, though a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
The sequel promises significant improvements across the board. According to a press release, it features more detailed team dynamics, more challenging enemies, and a completely customizable character class, making it the ultimate cooperative Aliens game.
Compared to the first PS5, PS4 title, we’re looking at the following in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2:
- Expansion from three-player to four-player co-op
- Deeper team-based mechanics
- New and improved character classes
- New Xenomorphs
- Deeper weapon and gear customisation
- A new Specialist class
The original game was decent – we gave it a 6 out of 10 – and this sequel is improving on that base. When it first launched, we thought it was a fun, replayable squad shooter with enough content to keep players engaged in missions and the horde mode. Since then, the game has gotten even better with a major expansion and new ways to progress.
