Looking for a new show to watch on Netflix? Now you can stream all seven seasons of a fantastic, but often overlooked, crime drama. Netflix has been adding a lot of great content this month, including full series like Falling Skies and The Following. And this week, they’ve added another must-see show that you’ll want to add to your list.
All seven seasons of the crime drama Rizzoli & Isles are now available on Netflix, as of January 20th. The show, which originally ran on TNT from 2010 to 2016 for a total of 105 episodes, has been available on various streaming platforms intermittently since then. Based on the novels by Tess Gerritsen, Rizzoli & Isles stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander as a detective and a medical examiner, respectively. Despite their very different personalities, they team up to investigate challenging crimes in Boston.
Rizzoli & Isles Is a Hidden Gem Crime Procedural
If you’re looking for a comforting and easy-to-watch show, add Rizzoli & Isles to your Netflix list. Each episode features a new case, making it perfect for binge-watching, but it’s not just simple procedural drama. The show also develops its characters and includes interesting side stories to keep you hooked. What really makes it special, though, is the fantastic chemistry between the two lead actresses. Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon play characters with very different personalities, creating both hilarious and genuinely touching moments, and offering a welcome lightness to the often-dark storylines.
Though critics weren’t immediately impressed with the first season – it only received a 41% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – they grew to appreciate the show over time. Rizzoli & Isles ultimately became one of TNT’s most successful series. Viewers loved it from the start, giving it a 72% rating in season one, and consistently high scores – averaging 89% – throughout its seven seasons. Years after the finale, it remains a popular choice for binge-watching and continues to perform well on streaming platforms, often topping the charts. The show recently gained renewed attention when it was available on Peacock last year.

Netflix added several new shows and movies in January, including the series Rizzoli & Isles, along with previous seasons of Falling Skies, Found, and The Following. Hulu’s 11.22.63 is also popular on the streaming platform, currently ranking at No. 4. Movie highlights now available on Netflix include 12 Years a Slave, Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, Man on Fire, Pitch Perfect, and Priscilla.
