As a huge sci-fi fan, I’ve been really impressed with the selection on Tubi. They’ve got a surprisingly deep catalog – everything from the classics I love to some really cool, lesser-known titles from both movies and TV. But I’ve been hearing that a fantastic, but largely forgotten, ‘90s sci-fi show is about to disappear from the platform, and everyone’s rushing to watch it alongside newer additions like Ad Astra and Gattaca before it’s gone!
The animated series Men in Black, which originally aired from 1997 to 2001, is leaving the Tubi streaming service. The show follows Agents J, K, and L as they work for a secret government organization dealing with aliens and protecting Earth, continuing the story after the first Men in Black movie. Despite running for four seasons and 53 episodes, it’s been hard to find – only the first season was ever released on DVD, and it only recently became available to stream on Tubi in April 2025. Now, less than a year later, it’s being removed, though the exact date hasn’t been announced.
Men in Black: The Series Is Better Than You Remember
While Men in Black: The Series didn’t become as widely known as the films, it’s actually a very strong continuation of the original movie – arguably even better than the later film sequels. Despite lacking a critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, the show boasts an 83% audience approval rating, which is higher than any of the Men in Black movies.
The show brilliantly recreated the fun, quirky feel of the original 1997 movie and successfully continued the adventures of Agents K and J, building on their relationship as mentor and protégé over four seasons. It also greatly expanded the world of Men in Black – more so than the later films – with a huge range of new alien creatures and a deeper look into the MIB organization. Each episode featured a unique sci-fi story, and the show often tackled more mature themes, making it surprisingly enjoyable for adult viewers. It’s a fantastic series for fans of the movies to watch from beginning to end, and it remains incredibly engaging even today.
Where to Stream Men in Black: The Series After It Leaves Tubi?
It’s getting a little harder to find Men in Black: The Series, but you’ll still be able to watch it. Currently, it’s available to stream for free on The Roku Channel and Tubi. However, it’s not on major streaming services like Netflix or Hulu, and it’s uncertain if it will be added to another service once it leaves Tubi.
