Netflix has quickly become a major force in crime dramas with shows like Ozark, Mindhunter, and Money Heist, and they’re adding another one soon. Their highly anticipated new series, featuring a well-known cast, will be released in just a few hours and is one of their biggest releases this May.
Starting May 7th, Netflix will release all six episodes of Legends, a new British crime drama inspired by a real undercover operation from the 1990s. The series, created by Neil Forsyth and starring Tom Burke, Steve Coogan, and Hayley Squires, takes place in the early ‘90s when British customs officials were struggling to stop illegal drug smuggling. Legends follows everyday customs officers who are trained to go undercover – taking on new identities – to infiltrate and expose dangerous drug gangs.
Netflix’s Legends Is Set To Be the Next Addictive, Must-Watch Show
Reviews for the new Netflix series Legends are still coming in, but it’s already generating buzz as the next addictive binge-worthy show. The series is based on a little-known part of British policing and promises a thrilling story with plenty of suspense. It explores themes of identity as characters go undercover, forcing them to become someone else. According to Mona Qureshi, Netflix’s director of UK content, Legends features a captivating group of characters and delivers an action-packed crime story in the style of classic British thrillers.
The new series Legends has a lot going for it. It was created by Forsyth, who has won a BAFTA award and is known for hit dramas like Guilt and The Gold. The six-part thriller is directed by Brady Hood (Top Boy, Great Expectations) and Julian Holmes (Reacher, The Boys), both of whom are skilled at building suspenseful and captivating worlds. The show also boasts a strong cast, led by Burke (known from Strike and the upcoming Furiousa) as an undercover agent and Coogan as his superior. Rounding out the ensemble are Squires (The Night Manager), Charlotte Ritchie (Ghosts, You), and Aml Ameen (A Man In Full).
Will There Be a Legends Season 2?
Everyone’s predicting Legends will be Netflix’s next big hit, but the first season only has six episodes. Netflix hasn’t decided if it will continue the show yet, which is normal for a new series. Whether or not it gets renewed will probably depend on how many people watch it.
