All Creatures Great and Small favourite stars in trailer for “enthralling” and “sinister” new thriller

In the upcoming thriller “The Rumour,” actress Rachel Shenton from “All Creatures Great and Small” takes on a more ominous role as she delves into a chilling mystery that unfolds, portraying a mother whose life becomes entangled in a menacing tale.

Joanna Shenton decides to leave the busy city life of London and settles in the peaceful town of Flinstead, hoping for a fresh start. However, her tranquility is disrupted when she learns that a notorious child murderer might be residing within this close-knit community, hidden under an assumed identity.

The sharing of the rumor among a circle of neighborhood mothers, unwittingly sets off a chain reaction of fear and mistrust, according to the synopsis. In the trailer (provided), we witness the tight-knit community that once stood united, start turning on each other as they frantically search for the truth.

As murmurs escalate and unease mounts, Joanna finds herself entangled in a perilous web of mysteries and accusations. As faith falters and panic spreads rapidly, she starts to doubt not just the town’s history but also her own intuition.

The Film is derived from the critically acclaimed and top-selling book with the identical title, “The Rumour,” authored by Lesley Kara. Screenwriter Giula Sandler, known for her work on “The House Across the Street” featuring Shirley Henderson, has adapted it for the big screen.
