Fans of Resident Evil are likely to see a remake of Code Veronica X as Capcom’s next project, according to a trusted source. Leaker NateDrake has reinforced reports that the remake is currently in development.
The source also claims Capcom is aiming to release the Resident Evil – Code Veronica remake in the first six months of 2027. According to a social media post, the remake is currently in active development with a targeted release timeframe of early to mid-2027.
This new information supports earlier reports from IGN, VGC, and DuskGolem, all suggesting that Capcom is planning a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica after Resident Evil Requiem. While some rumors point to a Resident Evil Zero remake, there’s currently less evidence to support that possibility.
A new Resident Evil game, titled Requiem, is coming to PS5 on February 27, 2026. Considering Capcom’s pattern of releasing both new games and remakes, it’s likely a remake will be their next project in the series.
