Amazon Games will no longer be publishing the open-world driving game from Maverick Games on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, according to a report from The Game Business. However, the game is still being developed, and Maverick Games is currently talking to other companies about publishing it. We can expect to hear more details sometime in 2026.
To better concentrate on projects that utilize Amazon’s strengths, like the recent relaunch of Luna and our partnership with Crystal Dynamics for the Tomb Raider franchise, Amazon Games has ended its publishing agreement with Maverick Games, according to a company spokesperson.
We greatly admire the team at Maverick Games and the exciting story-driven racing game they’re developing. They’ve decided to seek a different publishing partner whose goals better match their plans for releasing the game. We’re happy with what we achieved together and wish them all the best going forward.
Mike Brown and Harinder Sangha, the founders of Maverick Games, expressed their thanks to Amazon Games for their support and teamwork. They also confirmed that development of their first game is going well and that they’re talking to potential partners who are excited about the game’s future. They plan to reveal more details later this year.
