Andy Reid knows Travis Kelce is gonna play, play, play, play, play no matter what. 

The Kansas City Chiefs head coach isn’t worried that his tight end has been planning his wedding to Taylor Swift while also getting ready for the 2026-2027 season.

Coach Reid told reporters on June 12th that the player has been present for the majority of the offseason, and it’s great to have him back. He participated in the mandatory camp and performed well, and seems enthusiastic to get going again.

The coach observed that Travis Kelce hadn’t caused any issues, and then compared the attention around Kelce to his own wedding to Tammy Reid back in 1981.

It reminds me of my own wedding – my wife handled all the planning and I just went along with it. Perhaps the person we’re discussing is taking more initiative, but it seems like they’re also very dedicated to their work.

The NFL coach wouldn’t say whether he’d been invited to the highly anticipated party, choosing to remain secretive about it.

“Can’t talk about it,” Reid hedged with a smile. “Can’t talk about it.”

The Kansas City Chiefs coach is now one of many people – including friends, family, and celebrities connected to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift – who are constantly being asked about their potential wedding plans.

Recently, Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse addressed rumors that Taylor Swift might celebrate her birthday in the state. This speculation arose because Swift has owned a property in Westerly, Rhode Island, since 2013.

Senator Whitehouse said on June 2nd that he believes Taylor Swift skipped Rhode Island during her tour. He expressed his hope that she’ll visit the state sometime soon, saying he would be thrilled to host her.

On her podcast, ‘Not Gonna Lie,’ the 34-year-old explained that while people usually ask with good intentions, she and her mother-in-law are tired of being asked. She confirmed that they aren’t sharing any wedding plans and emphasized, ‘Nobody’s telling you anything. I don’t have any details.’ Swift shares four daughters with Kelce.

While fans of Taylor Swift and the NFL are eager for wedding details, let’s take a look back at how Swift and Kelce’s relationship developed.

I remember exactly when I first heard about Taylor and Travis! It was back in July 2023, when Taylor’s Eras Tour came to Kansas City and played at Arrowhead Stadium. That’s when their connection really seemed to start, and honestly, I’ve been following their story ever since!

Being a big Taylor Swift fan, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give Taylor a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it at her concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to reach her because she was busy preparing for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset Taylor Swift didn’t speak to fans before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

After jokingly talking about dropping the football – something he’d later call incredibly cool – Travis decided to take a chance and invited the famous singer to come see the Chiefs play at their home stadium.

He said on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, suggesting she come to one of his concerts at Arrowhead Stadium after having seen him perform there. He joked about seeing whose concert was more exciting, leaving the possibility of a visit open for the near future.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August at training camp, and that’s how Taylor first met him.

Looking back, that time with the mustache and number 87 jersey was definitely a memorable look for me! It’s funny because I was actually rocking that whole vibe when I first met Taylor – a pretty iconic moment, if I do say so myself!

According to a source who spoke with TopMob News, Travis Scott and Taylor Swift began casually texting and calling each other in early September.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to see him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, where she sat with his mom, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were spotted showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” explained that she and her partner had actually known each other for quite some time before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor invited a group of her close friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from football games. This could indicate that Travis is indeed ‘The One’ for Taylor.

The couple showcased their relationship on television with a surprise appearance on the October 14th episode of Saturday Night Live. They continued the fun with a party after the show and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During his team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on her Eras Tour. At the November 11th concert in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and even received a mention from Taylor while she was performing.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Okay, so after her incredible performance, I spotted Taylor rushing backstage – straight into Travis’s arms! It was such a sweet moment; they shared a really passionate kiss right there. Definitely a cute post-show reunion!

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time that she’s excited to support him doing what he’s passionate about, and they’re both there for each other, regardless of who else is around. This is the opposite of having to hide a relationship and go to great lengths to keep it secret.

Taylor and Travis celebrated New Year’s Eve together, and they shared a sweet kiss at midnight to ring in the new year.

Taylor continued getting closer to Travis’s family by spending time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and Jason’s wife, Kylie, at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’ for the first time.
