
For years, filmmakers have tried to bring the video game Metal Gear Solid to the big screen. Now, Sony Pictures is giving it another shot, and has hired directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein – known for Final Destination: Bloodlines – to direct the movie.
The directors expressed their excitement and gratitude for the chance to adapt Hideo Kojima’s famous characters and captivating world. Before this, they gained experience making independent horror films, including work on Final Destination Bloodlines.
For more than ten years, people have been trying to make a Metal Gear Solid movie, and Oscar Isaac has long been a fan favorite to play Solid Snake. Reports surfaced over five years ago that Isaac had signed on to a project, but so far, the movie hasn’t materialized.
