Aphelion composed by Amine Bouhafa; PS5 physical edition announced

DON’T NOD announced that Amine Bouhafa, a César Award-winning composer from France and Tunisia, will create the music for their upcoming sci-fi action-adventure game, Aphelion. Maximum Entertainment will handle the physical distribution of the game in North America, Europe, and Australia.

Bouhafa, who is new to video game development, shared in a press release that they were impressed with how the team at Aphelion approached both the music and the game itself, and are having a great experience working on it.

Florent Guillaume, creative director at DON’T NOD, shared that working with composer Amine on Aphelion was a wonderful experience. They were impressed by his work on ‘The Summit of the Gods’ and his ability to convey deep emotion within a large-scale story. Guillaume describes Amine as a genuinely empathetic person and hopes players will connect with the game’s characters and feel moved by the overall experience.

Here are the latest details, via DON’T NOD:

Amine Bouhafa is an award-winning composer from France and Tunisia. He’s known for creating the music for films like Timbuktu (2015), The Summit of the Gods (2021), and The Little Sister (2025).

Players will feel the grand scale and personal stories of the game thanks to Bouhafa’s music, which perfectly captures the world of Persephone and the experiences of Ariane and Thomas. His compositions beautifully convey the planet’s atmosphere, the threat of the Nemesis, and the characters’ emotions. The video shows how Amine uses instruments like the pipe organ and cristal baschet to create a sense of wonder and highlight the mysterious, frozen nature of Persephone.

The game Aphelion is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (through Steam and the Microsoft Store) in 2026. It will also be included with Xbox Game Pass.
