It’s not surprising people are comparing ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6 – they’re both multiplayer shooters released around the same time. Both games were very popular when they first launched, selling incredibly well and attracting a lot of players. However, as of early 2026, their player numbers are trending in different directions, as noted by Paul Tassi at Forbes.
Both ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6 initially attracted a lot of players – ARC Raiders reached a high of about 481,966 players in November, while Battlefield 6 peaked at 747,440 players in October. As expected, player numbers have decreased for both games since then. ARC Raiders has held onto a significant portion of its player base, currently peaking at around 428,000 players in a 24-hour period. Battlefield 6, however, has experienced a more noticeable drop, with its 24-hour peak now around 119,000 players.
These player counts only cover the PC versions of ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6, using data from SteamDB. The numbers show that Battlefield 6 has only kept about 16% of its original players, while ARC Raiders has retained almost 90%.
Even though the number of players online at the same time for the Steam version of Battlefield 6 has decreased, consistently having over 100,000 daily players is still a strong result, and the game isn’t in danger of losing popularity. ARC Raiders is also reporting good player numbers, and both games are probably played even more on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Both games have received several updates since their release, including bug fixes, gameplay adjustments, and new content. Last month, ARC Raiders launched the Cold Snap update, introducing a new weather effect and winter theme. Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 is currently running its first season, which began in late October.
Embark Studios hasn’t revealed official sales numbers for ARC Raiders yet. However, a report from November suggested that Battlefield 6 was already the top-selling game in the US for 2025 and the most successful game in the Battlefield series.
Despite strong initial sales in the US last November, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 isn’t performing as well as other popular games like ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6. Experts believe this is due to a combination of factors, including mistakes made by Activision and a more competitive market with games like Fortnite, ARC Raiders, and Battlefield 6 already attracting a large player base.
