Arnold Schwarzenegger & Heather Milligan Make Rare Appearance

Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn’t terminated his commitment to a cause close to him.

When he appeared at the Austrian World Summit on June 16th, he was accompanied by his girlfriend of many years, Heather Milligan.

As someone who keeps an eye on style and sustainability, I was really impressed with the looks at the recent climate conference in Vienna! Arnold Schwarzenegger, who started this incredible event back in 2017 with his initiative, looked sharp as ever on the red carpet. He chose a classic dark gray suit with a black shirt. And I loved seeing actress and activist Xóchitl Milligan bring a little color to the event – she paired a vibrant light green blazer with a matching shirt and crisp white pants. It’s wonderful to see people using fashion to make a statement while also focusing on such an important issue. I even spotted Vice President Kamala Harris there, too!

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Heather Milligan have largely kept their relationship private since they began dating in 2013, two years after his split from Maria Shriver.

Still, the Terminator star has been effusive in his praise for the physical therapist. 

In a 2023 interview with People magazine, the 78-year-old spoke highly of her, saying, “I really admire her work ethic. She’s self-sufficient and incredibly motivated.”

They actually met because of work. Arnold Schwarzenegger shared that his surgeon, while he was recovering from shoulder surgery before making the 2013 film Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone, had promised to connect him with a highly skilled physical therapist.

Schwarzenegger remembered telling Sylvester Stallone he needed to prepare for a movie with lots of action and fight scenes. He wanted to be in top shape. According to Schwarzenegger, Stallone replied, ‘If you want the best advice, go to Heather. I always send athletes to her because she truly understands their needs.’

I visited her, and once my therapy and the movie I was working on wrapped up, I called her and treated her to lunch as a thank you. That’s when things started to develop between us.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has five children – Katherine, 36, Christina, 34, Patrick, 32, Christopher, 28, with Maria Shriver, and Joseph, 28, with Mildred Baena – expressed his gratitude for meeting Milligan, noting they share many common interests.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s children – Katherine Schwarzenegger, Christina Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Chris Schwarzenegger, and Joseph Baena – are all adults now. These days, he prefers being a grandpa to his three grandchildren – Lyla, Eloise, and Ford – who he shares with Katherine and her husband, Chris Pratt. Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger married in 1986, but divorced in 2011 after Maria discovered Arnold had a child with another woman. Their son-in-law, actor Chris Pratt, recently praised how they co-parented their four children despite the challenges and public attention. In an interview with Today in May 2024, Pratt explained that he admires how well-adjusted their children are, especially considering the privileges often associated with Hollywood families. He wants to learn from Maria’s parenting style, specifically how she kept her children grounded and accountable. Patrick Schwarzenegger, born in 1993 and the son of Arnold and Maria Schwarzenegger, is making a name for himself as an actor. While he acknowledges his family connections, he emphasizes his dedication to the craft. He credits his brother-in-law, Chris, with helping him land a role in The Terminal List by encouraging him to physically transform – gaining 20 pounds and undergoing tactical training – to convincingly portray the character. Training alongside Navy SEALs was a particularly exciting experience for him.

Since then, Patrick has continued to build his resume with roles in The White Lotus as Saxon Ratliff and as Tim Tebow in FX’s American Sports Story. He’s aware some people might assume he gets opportunities solely because of his father, but points out his decade of acting classes, constant practice, and numerous unsuccessful auditions.

Born in 1989 to Arnold and Maria, she’s now building her own lovely family with her husband, Chris. They married in 2019 after falling for each other quickly, and in 2020, they welcomed their first child, a sweet daughter named Lyla. Two years later, little Eloise joined the fun, and in 2024, they expanded their family again with baby Ford. I’ve always admired Chris Pratt, and one thing that’s always been clear is how much he loves his family. It really hurt me, though, when I saw the criticism he got back in 2021. He simply expressed his gratitude for his daughter with Katherine being healthy, and people online twisted it into something awful, claiming it was a jab at his first child, who was born prematurely and his ex-wife, Anna. He shared in an interview with Men’s Health that it genuinely upset him, and he was worried about his son, who was nine at the time, seeing those negative comments online someday. He said it felt like celebrating something wonderful in his life was causing pain to those close to him, and he even cried about it. It was just a really tough situation to watch, and it showed me how much he cares about protecting his family from negativity.

Jack, the son of Anna and Chris, was born prematurely in August 2012 and needed care in the NICU.

The actress fondly remembers bringing her son, Jack, home from the hospital. The early years were challenging, filled with frequent doctor visits, five surgeries, and physical therapy, but also with a lot of joy – she describes Jack as the most adorable child she could have ever hoped for.

Now a teenager, Jack still comes to his parents for guidance. The actress shared with TopMob in March 2025 that, like many parents, she often wonders if she’s doing a good job raising him. When Jack seeks her advice, it reassures her that she’s on the right track and makes her incredibly proud.

 

Katherine and Chris welcomed their daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt, in August 2020, just over a year after their wedding. Lyla’s middle name honors Katherine’s mother.

Chris generally keeps his family life private, but he shared that his son Jack was already doing a fantastic job as a big brother. He told Entertainment Tonight in 2021 that Jack is very patient with Lyla, even when she tries to pull his glasses off, and is a truly great older sibling.

In March 2022, Chris and Katherine welcomed their daughter, Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt, expanding their family.

Actor Jason Bateman, known as a proud ‘girl dad,’ shared in June 2022 that his oldest daughter is doing great with her new role as a big sister. He explained that she initially reacted with some curiosity and a bit of wanting to be the center of attention, asking, ‘What’s the deal with this baby?’ But now, she’s completely embraced having a little sister, constantly wanting to hold her and being incredibly sweet. Bateman said these moments are what truly matter and bring him immense joy and gratitude.

Katherine and Chris Pratt had a son, Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt, on November 8th, 2024. A few days after his birth, they shared on Instagram that both mom and baby are healthy, and Ford’s siblings are excited to have him join the family. The couple expressed feeling very lucky and thankful.

Christopher Schwarzenegger, the youngest son of Arnold and Maria Schwarzenegger, generally keeps a low profile. Born in 1997, he’s involved with the Special Olympics Founder’s Council as Vice Chair and works as Director of Development for Indus Valley Media. He previously gained experience at Malka, a creative content agency, and with sports psychologist Trevor Moawad. He’s a University of Michigan graduate with a degree in psychology.

His sister, Christina Schwarzenegger, born in 1991, is an executive producer. She’s known for her work on documentaries like Take Your Pills (2018) and Take Your Pills: Xanax (2022).

Joseph Baena is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, born from an affair with his then-housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena, in 1997. Arnold didn’t discover he was Joseph’s father until years later.

In his 2023 documentary, Arnold, Schwarzenegger admitted to the affair, explaining he initially didn’t suspect paternity but became increasingly certain as Joseph grew older. He wrestled with how to keep the situation a secret.

Schwarzenegger described the affair as a significant mistake but emphasized his pride in Joseph. He stated he wants Joseph to feel loved and accepted, and that Joseph has become an impressive young man.

Like his father, Joseph is pursuing an acting career and is dedicated to fitness. He also works in real estate and recently appeared on season 31 of Dancing With the Stars.

Chris and Anna got married in 2009, but separated after eight years. Anna, who was previously married to Ben Indra, suggested that her relationship with Chris wasn’t as perfect as it appeared.

On her podcast, Unqualified, she explained that she and Chris both maintained a certain image of their relationship, even with close friends and family. She felt more open and honest in her marriage to Ben.

Anna, now married to cinematographer Michael Barrett and stepmother to his two children, also hinted that being with partners in the same acting profession contributed to the issues. She shared that she and her ex-husbands didn’t handle competition well, and she personally struggled with vulnerability and comparing herself to others. She hopes she’s learned from those experiences.
